Iron Man (2008) | MCU Phase 1

FINALLY STARTING MY MCU JOURNEY!

So as it turns out.. I have never seen this movie (I thought it was the first one) so this IS IN FACT A 'FIRST TIME WATCHING' LOL  This is our first movie introducing me to the MCU and lets just say they started out very strong.  I've always preferred DC over Marvel because it is what I grew up with, so this is me giving Marvel a chance!! I do think right off the bat that Tony Stark will be my favorite Marvel hero and this movie was awesome. I also just found out that so much of this movie was improv from RDJ and Jeff Bridges???? That just makes me love this movie so much more. The writing, lines, action and plot of this movie were spot on and I really REALLY loved watching it. So I hope you guys do too!!

Does copyright also affect Pateron members?

It looks like VK missed the significance of Gulmira: Yinsen's hometown and Iron Man's introduction.

Richard Ryan

Remember to watch after credit scenes

Kalle-Tapani Isomaa

Jarvis the computer voice is also in the movie SOLO , Paul Bettini

Mike Lipke

Im team Captain America ,cant wait

Mike Lipke

Btw Vicky, I think it's the best to watch the movies in chronological order as they aired. Then it's certain that you don't miss anything even if it's just a small crossover. 🤗

Chris Lüders

Just a suggestion... Some reactors use Google drive so they don't have to blur things out.

Andy Clewell

I can't believe no one (including me) mentioned the end credit scenes before Vicky started the MCU. We dropped the ball people. I personally am ashamed.

Richard Maurer

I literally lol'd when she said that.

Richard Maurer

End credits scene reactions would be great, they're a lot of fun and tie the series together. It was great seeing you thinking you watched this and being wrong, I liked your prediction that Obadiah was going to kidnap Pepper to get to Tony, I think that would've been interesting.

MenuMitch

Well, liking DC doesn't preclude liking Marvel too. At least it isn't Coke and Pepsi, is it, Vee? 😂 Iron Man is really a very good film, but but I can only recommend looking at the end credits, as there is often something to come. 😉

Chris Lüders

No she is right, That's why they used it.

PhillyJ

I grew up a big DC fan as well, over time I grew to like Marvel too. Then I realised its okay to be a fan of just superheros in general. The one thing I had to learn though was suspension of disbelief. Physics that would kill you in the real word wont kill you here, the physics in the MCU are based on the comics.

LightsCameraJake

It may of interest to Vicky and to anyone who didn't already know, the actor who played Hogan (the guy you remembered from "Friends") is Jon Favreau, who is not only the movie's executive producer and director, but the creator/writer/producer/executive producer of The Mandalorian.

Andrew T

Ohhhh!!!! Your in for a wild ride with the MCU and I'm excited to see your reactions to it.

Matthew Davis

Others have already mentioned the end credit (and sometimes mid-credit) scenes, so I will just suggest that perhaps you could react to the end credit scene from this movie at the start of your next Marvel movie reaction? I think everyone would enjoy that.

darby72

I would say that the MCU should be treated as a giant fat TV series due to the after credit scenes and interconnected story, so I wouldn't wait too long between movies, just so you keep the details fresh in your memory. Watching them when they came out, there was so much that I missed, but picked up on during rewatches where I watched them closer together.

VProductions

Yay! And so it begins.

James M

Vicky: "That looks like the guy from The Mummy." Me: "...no Brendan Fraser comment?"

Andrew T

Vee: (about Obadia) "He is so understanding and genuinely one of the best partners I think somebody can have" 🤔

Sir_Dalagad

MCU movies has end credit scenes that ties in with the next movie. i hope you remember to watch them

Tiger Chu

You need to watch the end-credits scene, in this movie and all other MCU films!

Gabriel Lozano, WLC

Still top tier to this day!

Here’s a forum about Pepper’s shoes: https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/gwyneth-paltrows-shoes-in-iron-man.289164/

The suits are different progressions; the one from the cave is the Mark I, the silver one is the Mark II, and the red and gold one is the Mark III. RDJ was made for this role. He took to it so well, people started calling him Tony by mistake.

Texas Anla'Shok

If you're using disney plus to watch these in release order, just know that disney doesn't have the rights to the spiderman movies or the incredible hulk movie that are a part of MCU if you wanted to include those as an official watch of the entire MCU.

TJ Bigelow

"His aim is atrocious." Just a moment earlier Obadiah yelled that Tony had torn out his targeting system.

Marvel is all about characters. So, I think you'll love the other films. Enjoy your MCU journey, VK !

Heh, the only message behind the cheeseburger was that Burger King paid the most for the product placement. You really don't need to think that deeply about these movies. Just take them at face value and enjoy.

Thomas Yanez

I have seen all of them 😭 those are surprisingly some of the movies i HAVE seen 😢

VKunia

your supposed to pull up your own copy of the movie in another tab, and sync it with her video. its to avoid copyright.

donald johnson

I am a bit late to the party as I just joined the patreon, but what’s up with the movie footage being blurred out in all videos? Does she not use google drive or some other medium so her patrons can watch full reactions with the movie in it? Please advise

Jenny Tsu

VK, each MCU movie has a scene after the end credits (sometimes additional scenes during the credits). You didn't watch the scene after the credits. Those scenes are essential and connect to the other MCU movies. Otherwise... GREAT reaction! 👍

Mr. Writhms

Does this mean no Sam Raimi Spider-Man until the MCU is done? Missed opportunity if so.

Flukemarm

No spoilers people... Let her find out the twists and turns on her own. Plz. I beg you.

Enterprize

I'm sorry little one...

MenuMitch

I am new here and I am excited to have arrived just in time at the start of your MCU journey.

Calbert

Excellent.
