Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark | Full Length Reaction!

Hey everyone!!

Here is Raiders of the Lost Ark!!  So growing up I'd always see lil spoilers regarding this movie in pop culture, I'd always hear references but could never piece together exactly where they were from... until now. I really really enjoyed this movie and Harrison Ford did an AMAZING job as Indy. It's like he was made for this role as well as for Han Solo LOL. He has such a unique way about him that just works and it made this movie so much more fun to watch. With his charisma, sarcasm mixed in with all of the comedy from the writing & all of the stunts/action - I LOVED IT SO MORE PLS Thank you guys for choosing it - I knew it'd win but not by such a huge landslide WHEW

I had so much fun watching Raiders of the Lost Ark, I hope you guys do too :)))

It's worth pointing out beforehand, that Temple of Doom is a prequel taking place a year before Raiders. Easy to miss, and easy to get confused by.

As someone who has had tarantulas as pets. this bothers me. Tarantulas can't survive long falls. sweeping those tarantulas off his companions back would have killed those spiders.

The Evil Midnight Bomber

So much fun watching your reactions, this was great.

You know, archaeology doesn't need to be redefined in terms of other -ologies. Archaeology is not a subset of geology nor is it a superset of geology. It is its own science. It's okay to just add archeology to the list of things you like.

This was *such* a great react Vicky! This is one of the movies I have waited a long time for you to react to and it was totally worth it! This is one of my favorite movies of all times. The pure joy on your face when they were discussing the history of the arc at the college made the entire react worth it :D I love all of the Indy films and just Indiana as a character. Fun Matt trivia... I went to grad school for physics and one of my favorite and most influential physics teachers I have ever had was brilliant(but pop culturally illiterate) professor named Dr. Jones. He didn't own a tv and I honestly think he never ever saw a movie. So, whenever I would send him an email I would always include an uncited Indian Jones quote. I also always love when you love when you "call" what's going to happen EXCEPT when you sullied poor Sallahs name!! :D That aside I really loved this react. Made my week :)

You say you love Sallah? Well, of course you do. After all, the actor, John Rhys-Davies, also played two other characters that you loved... Treebeard and Gimli in Lord of the Rings! The goal was the Ark of the Covenent. It is the most holy relic of Judaism. It was constructed to hold the tablets of the Ten Commandments and was carried across the desert by the Children of Israel as they travelled to the Promised Land. Of course it would be a Jewish ritual to open it. The Ark was lost in 587 BCE when the Babylonians destroyed Jerusalem.

Tanis is a city that has yet to be found in Egypt. The temple of Solomon was raided by the Pharo and they kept a record of all they stole and the Ark was not on them. Some think it was smuggled out by the Templars but My thoughts are its still there buried under the current Dome of the rock. there was another temple built on top of the 1st and it was destroyed by the Muslims that took over the city. No records ever tell what happened to it, Some say it;s in a church in Ethopia. Reading the bible it says anyone that is not a preiest trained dies coming close to it so I don't see how anyone even a templar could carry it out. So I believe its still there and when the 3rd temple is built it will be found.

You were looking away from the screen when the music credit was shown. It was legendary John Williams! My favorite score from the soundtrack is "Desert Chase"-- the truck chase scene. Great and funny reaction as usual. Keep it up!

Your review is wonderful. 😊 I hope you will watch the other Indiana Jones movies (at least Temple of Doom and the Last Crusade) too, because they get better and better and I think you will love them. 😊 You asked 'bringing a gun to a sword fight? Or is it bringing a knife to a gun fight?' - well, watch 'The Untouchables' (1987) and you will know. 🤗 Btw I think the easiest way to explain 'Fräulein' is, 'Frau/Fräulein' are the germen expressions for the english 'Mrs/Ms' in modern times. But you're right, in medieval times it was an expression for a young, unmarried lady/noblewoman. 😉 An interesting fact is that George Lucas (-> story) didn't want any of his Star Wars actors as Indiana Jones and refused Harrison Ford, so Spielberg preferred Tom Selleck. But he wasn't available (under contract with 'Magnum'), Nick Nolte refused the role, so Lucas finally accepted Harrison Ford as Indy 😁 ... and man he did a great job.

Sorry Vee, but fuck snakes.

Fun fact: The truck that carried the ark is currently outside the Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland.

Texas Anla'Shok

Did you recognize Gimli from Lord of the Rings? It was Sallah!

3dbadboy1

Fun fact: The digger that Jones met was Gimli from LOTR
