2021-09-16 19:19:26 +0000 UTCFor Halloween reactions I recommend: -Alien (1979) by Ridley Scott same director of Blade Runner and Gladiator -The Exorcist (1973) -Tigers are nor Afraid (2017) -Belzebuth (2018) -Bride Corpse -The Frighteners, directed by Peter Jackson same director of LOTR Trilogy -The Witch (2015) -Hereditary (2018) -Incident in a Gosthland (2018) -Let the Right One In (2008) -Ringu (1998) -Ju-on: The Gruge (2004) -REC. (2007)
Checo Lara
2021-09-16 17:22:54 +0000 UTCLooks like 1917 is about to win. 1917 is a good film but didn't have the same emotional impact as saving private ryan imo. I would suggest people to consider watching "Tae Guk Gi: The Brotherhood of War (2004)". An underrated foreign film that doesn't get much attention.

2021-09-15 01:13:52 +0000 UTCWow, a lot of good movies on this poll, I hope you can get to most of them! After finishing Lord of the Rings, Conan is a totally different take on fantasy. American Graffitti doesn't get the love it deserves but I think it's George Lucas' best directorial work.

2021-09-15 00:36:51 +0000 UTCThe one's that have been previously suggested will alwasy been in the rotation, as far as I know. And wha'ts wrong with American Psycho or Children of Men?? And "Her" is a damn good movie.

2021-09-15 00:33:07 +0000 UTCMaster & Commander is THE most under-rated movie, not only is the movie timeless but almost seems to get better with age. It's easily one of THE accurate and immersive historical movies ever, and the inaccuracies that remain are easily forgiven because what a fantastic ride the movie is.
The Humaning
2021-09-14 23:39:22 +0000 UTCI'm not against Operation Petticoat either, and if we're going to have newbie kids saying "Oo, I just discovered 'Some Like It Hot' and you have to watch it!"...How about a comedy where Tony Curtis gets to work WITH Cary Grant, instead of just imitating him?
Eric Janssen
2021-09-14 23:33:43 +0000 UTCHello Vicky, fine that you're safe and sound and all the stress is behind you. Especially an accident isn't fun at all. That is trouble that nobody needs and together with all the other things it certainly was a lot of stress. 🙁 Of course I'm for Operation Petticoat and that's so cute that you took the movie to your list. But I think the chance of winning the poll is quite suboptimal 😂 ... although it's a great movie. 🤔 Hopefully American Psycho doesn't win because I have to admit that I absolutely don't like this movie. But that's just my personal opinion, others will certainly like the film. Well, when it comes to horror movies, I'll stick with my mind and think The Evil Dead, Evil Dead II and Army of darkness as a trilogy is a great option. 😊

2021-09-14 17:16:04 +0000 UTCSince u watched the first movie last year I would recommend the 2018 Halloween movie as it is a direct sequel to the 1978 Halloween and I think u would like it

2021-09-14 15:01:48 +0000 UTCOne of my favorite horror movies is "Tigers are not Afraid", it is a mixture of magical realism with a ghost story. In my opinion a very underrated movie, not many people know it or have heard of it. I share a link so you can check the trailer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UsFGeBRn5SI

2021-09-14 14:39:31 +0000 UTCIn my opinion I consider that The "Prince of Egypt" is one of the best animated films in history, if not the best, many do not give it a chance because it is a biblical film, therefore they think it is a religious film , which is not true, I see it more as an epic story based on Hebrew mythology. I highly recommend it, everyone should see it at least once in their life.
Checo Lara
2021-09-14 14:36:13 +0000 UTCSo happy to see American Graffiti on your list! Hope voters go for a true coming of age classic plus I know 2 of the actors in it and they'd love to see your reaction to it. I also chose As Good As It Gets. Both films I think you will ❤.

2021-09-14 13:32:52 +0000 UTCI don't do horror movies but I can reccomend some good fall/Halloween ones! Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride, Coraline, ParaNorman, Kubo and the Two Strings, Frankenweenie, DreamWorks Halloween specials, Disney's House of Villains, Hocus Pocus, Halloween Town series, I know there's more but that's all I got from the top of my head lol

2021-09-14 10:59:22 +0000 UTCA few horror movie recommendations for you: Candyman (1992) The Conjuring (2013) The Shining (1980) 28 Days Later (2002) Donnie Darko (2001) It Chapters 1&2 (2017, 2019) Scream (1996) Insidious (2010) The Woman in Black (2012) Now I know it’s a tv series but it is only 10 episodes and is hands down the best horror story (movie or tv show) I’ve ever seen and I cannot recommend it enough. The Haunting of Hill House (2018) Happy horror viewing!!

2021-09-14 09:35:05 +0000 UTCJust saw 1917 a few weeks ago. I loved how it was done, which almost gives a vibe like you were there with the actors. But with fall approaching, I’ve been thinking a lot about an older film from the 90s called Homeward Bound. Definitely worth a watch if you haven’t seen it before. For horror movies, I would review a Steven King film every October, and I still watch one every October. Those ones could be fun like It, Pet Semetary, Tommyknockers, or The Langoliers.

2021-09-14 08:19:44 +0000 UTCOne of my favorite (mainly Zombie-) Horror Movies: 28 Weeks Later I Am Legend World War Z (not exactly Horror Genre though) From Dusk Till Dawn (by Quentin Tarantino , and also starring him alongside George Clooney. 2021-09-14 07:25:39 +0000 UTCIt’s basically the same list of one-fanboy indulgences every time (there it is, that one faithful lil’ vote for La Llorana, every month), with one or two new “Wha??” good additions that everyone votes for. I almost voted for Operation Petticoat just on that basis (some fan’s coming out of left field…. 😄 ), but truth is, Prince of Egypt is just that darn good. And yes, I’m seconding Abominable Dr. Phibes for October, just so folks will look it up - It’s MIA from streaming at the moment, but a search on YouTube or library disk will bring it up: Imagine if “Se7en” had wandered into a Steed & Peel episode of The Avengers ‘67.

Better than the US remake Ringu (1998). Again, better than the US remake. Hellraiser (1987) The Abominable Dr. Phibes (1971) - really stylish and crazy Ginger Snaps (2000) The Re-Animator (1985) Horror of Dracula (1958) staring a young Christopher Lee (Saruman from LotR) The Return of the Living Dead (1985) REC (2007) Candyman (1992) Hereditary (2018) Midsommar (2019) Sinister (2012) It Follows (2014) House of a Thousand Corpses

2021-09-14 06:02:17 +0000 UTCConsidering how much you like Lord of the Rings and Gladiator I highly recommend Kingdom of Heaven (the Director's Cut). Its one of my favorite movies and is a really interesting and thoughtful movie! Extended cut is a must though, the theatrical cut kinda cut all the heart out of the film and the much longer Extended cut is far superior.
Jaron E Ehlers
2021-09-14 05:54:15 +0000 UTCOf course, I'd recommend some of the horror classics if you haven't seen them: -The Exorcist (Definitely watch the original theatrical version instead of the "extended director's cut;" I feel they got it right the first time.) -Jaws -The Thing -Alien -Psycho But some others I like: Get Out The Fly (1986) The Frighteners (this one's more "fun-scary") Creepshow The Omen (1976) The Shining The Orphanage The Exorcism of Emily Rose Good stuff all!
