I finally watched Whisper of the Heart and it was such a different Ghibli film compared to what I'm used to! It was cute, simple yet relatable which made it feel so familiar. There's always a certain magic when it comes to Ghibli films that I can't quite put my finger on, but I love it anyway.

It's kind of a joke, or an urban legend, but I think it's true to some extent. If a person who thinks he didn't make the most of his school life watched this movie, he would regret his past and get depressed. If you liked it, you may also want to watch "The Cat Returns" too. It's a spin-off that is assumed to be based on a fantasy story written by Shizuku.
