Mastering Social Media...hopefully

I'm currently listening to a webinar on Udemy (it's worth checking out because they have so many course subjects you may want to learn) about Social Media Marketing Mastery. Learning some things so far, talking about claiming your brand name, locking up social media handles, etc. so far.

My brand name IS my name. If I want to grow this as a business, which I do and obviously it won't blow up over night (I know I need to be patient and focus on putting in the work, then I get mad at myself for not working fast enough, it's a whole thing...), I think I need to come up with a brand name. I enjoy this for what it is, it's fun and it a lot of work. Could I do this full time someday? Maybe. Someday. I need to keep that in mind. Not tomorrow, not next week, next month, probably not even next year. Patience.

I enjoyed writing, too. But, my lack of patience quickly led to my disillusionment with writing. It can be a little disappointing when I see what Amazon provides for compensation. I had people, read 91 pages of SXW 1 The Rise of Wild East on Amazon's Kindle Unlimited; that's like reading the full book 3 times front to back; it only counts once per user. My Amazon pay: $0.19. Sold three books. I didn't make a quarter. That hurts. It's better when someone purchases the book, obviously, but it isn't just the compensation. In the future, I'll probably write for Smashwords/Draft2Digital.

This whole big rant or update, whatever it is (ramblings), is just to let you all know that I'm continuing to grow as a business and a creative entrepreneur. I'm getting there, one step at a time.
