New builds! New keys! On schedule!



Hi Everyone!

It's Friday! I said I would have new content and keys on Friday and I do! Huzzah I'm on schedule!

(not on emails though. I'm about 300 behind, but that's something I'm going to be working on this weekend. If you've been waiting for a reply thank you for your patience.)

So what's new? New version of Besti 9! I fixed some things folks wrote in about and improved other things. There's also a new eye style in the friend creator. The biggest improvement is an all new arousal gauge for VR systems that works much much better than the old one.

I'm going to be answering emails all weekend in an attempt to get caught up, and I'll be back on Monday to talk about the plan for this month (and to get back on schedule with Monday releases! Friday releases are screwing up my schedule.)

If you're on Besti Direct/Gumroad, new keys were emailed to you so please check your spam filter if you don't have them in about 15 minutes. You can also access them though your Gumroad library (towards the top of the screen when you're logged in. It's there!)

Besti 9.86:

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed the male urine effect that was added in 9.85. It is no longer filled with Orbeez. 
  • Resolved an issue that was wasting a tiny bit of RAM at startup.

New Features
  • The visual indicator for arousal on friends is completely different for VR. The system in use in 3D was never very good, so it has been replaced with a new one. Arousal in VR mode is now a floating indicator that follows your head sort of like a HUD. It can not be obfuscated by geometry.
  • Added a new eye style: RGB Robot Eyes

Core Updates
  • The male urine particle emitter was modified to generate non-visible particles. This is the appropriate setting for the new graphical renderer for those.
  • Brought over the object movement smoother from Besti X
  • Created a VR arousal display system (VRAD) similar to the 2D display system.
  • Wrote appropriate code to handle displaying and updating the VRAD.
  • Set the acceptable deviation values and desired positions for the VRAD.
  • Wrote a new shader for the particles to use in the VRAD.
  • Wrote a contingency handler for the now impossible value of 2 set on the arousal display system. There's now just 0 and 1 (off or on.)
  • Updated the tooltip on this option in the settings.
  • Reorganized how eye textures are stored in RAM a little bit. Minor efficiency improvement.
