Since it comes up in the comments, we'll address it here.
We've never actually covered what Red is. She -acts- like a cat, and does purr. She isn't a normal species though.
Given her character as I've written her, it'll never actually come up either. Feel free to speculate, just realize it'll not get confirmed any time soon (if ever).
