2025-06-17 21:58:01 +0000 UTCI only recently realised that while I've seen quite a few clips from this concert, and it was those that originally made me a fan, I've never actually seen the full concert. Since you were only a few weeks away from getting to it, I figured I might as well hold off and wait for your watch along (and the Fatalistic Viking's subs), and boy, was that well worth the wait! The energy, especially in the second half and right up to the end, was off the charts, and the entire show practically flawless. I had to laugh at your reaction to the Vanessa Carlton cover - seriously, I sometimes think Taka secretly wants to be a pop singer (hey, what do you expect from a man who goes on the Babymetal radio show and says he likes to listen to Disney songs, LOL) and occasionally has to give in to his urges with his choice of covers and acoustic versions, before he remembers he's supposed to be in a rock band...but then who can begrudge it when he does sing them so well? (though I haven't quite forgiven him yet for having Die with a Smile stuck in my head all the time now ;-) Thanks for this, that made my evening - though I'm not sure the neighbours appreciated me blasting the music way too loud late into the night.

The way that A Thousand Miles cover cracked you up π apparently this song wasn't well known in Japan until they did this cover lol. I agree with how startling the improvement that Taka showed was here. I really think this marks the beginning of when he went from a talented singer to a skilled singer.
