Chapter 768: Warship

Transformers Begin : Table of Content/Chapter List

XXX-----XXX-----XXX-----XXX

Without needing a directive from Sun Cheng, the whistling of the incoming missiles quickly drew the attention of every Decepticon on the island.

Caught off guard by the missiles streaking toward the island, the Vehicons descended into a brief state of chaos.

The moment Thunder and Swindle spotted the missiles, they recognized from their make that these were Electromagnetic Pulse Missiles manufactured by Base Two. In other words, their reinforcements had arrived.

With stoic efficiency, they activated their electromagnetic shields. Shortly after, the missiles struck with pinpoint accuracy around the periphery of the encampment on Terindad Island.

“Zzzt!”

Upon detonation, the Electromagnetic Pulse Bombs released a potent electromagnetic shockwave.

The island's Decepticons and various electronic devices were instantly fried under this intense assault, with sparks flying and a thick white smoke, reeking of burning silicon, quickly billowing out.

“Crack!”

The heavy combat robots, which had not been fortified against electromagnetic attacks, immediately lost their combat capabilities due to the electromagnetic shock.

The remaining Decepticon engineers and warriors on the island didn’t fare much better, falling one after another.

While Sun Cheng, Thunder, and Swindle were slightly better off, they still looked visibly drained, with wispy or thick white smoke rising from them.

This was the terror of the Electromagnetic Pulse Bombs. For cybertronians, silicon-based lifeforms teeming with electronic components, the bombs were a dreadful countermeasure.

The Vehicons surrounding Sun Cheng and the others were even more devastated.

The explosive radius of the dozen or so Electromagnetic Pulse Bombs completely enveloped Terindad Island. After the explosion, the horrifying electromagnetic shockwaves caused the encircling Vehicons to emit agonized, guttural roars.

Simultaneously, a familiar voice suddenly resounded in Sun Cheng and his team's communication channel.

“Master, we have arrived!”

It was Accel!

Sensing something, Sun Cheng lifted his gaze to the sky, only to see a strange ripple-like fluctuation about six to seven hundred meters above. Then, three peculiar spaceships that he recognized all too well gradually materialized from within these ripples.

“Optical cloaking!”

No wonder it had felt so strange!

Sun Cheng was naturally familiar with the three peculiar spaceships in the sky. They bore a strong resemblance to the Hope-class spaceship he had designed, which was later finalized by his Decepticon engineers.

In reality, they were indeed the same type of spaceship. However, unlike the first Hope-class, which was used for cargo, these three were crafted by Hephaestus, who was responsible for building spaceships and traditional vessels. They were combat versions proposed and modified by one of his Decepticon engineers based on the Hope-class.

It was undeniable that Decepticons were a unique race with the gene of war etched deeply into their core.

After the Quintessons colonized Cybertron, the Five-Faced Monster captured countless cybertronians for experimentation.

The greed, deceit, and reverence for war and violence exhibited by the Decepticons all stemmed from the trials of the Five-Faced Monster. They were originally cultivated based on their silicon-based lifeform counterparts, the cybertronians, to serve as soldiers in wars for Quintessa and other extraterrestrial civilizations.

So, when Sun Cheng learned that his Decepticon engineers intended to deeply modify the Hope-class, he promptly approved after briefly inquiring about their research direction.

In the blink of an eye, nearly three or four months had passed, and unexpectedly, the results of the battle had manifested so swiftly.

Above in the sky, what once bore the name of 'hope' could no longer be used to describe the three small warships that now revealed their ferocious true nature.

From the extended multi-barreled gun ports on their wings, it was easy to identify that each of the warships was equipped with the Base Two-produced 30mm caliber M61 Vulcan air-defense cannons.

This particular type of cannon, commonly known as the Vulcan Cannon, was a design developed by the Americans. With the global popularity of American fighter jets, this cannon had gained recognition as the most famous and reliable air-defense cannon worldwide.

In regions such as the Middle East and Africa, there had even been instances where militia groups, having somehow acquired Vulcan Cannons, repurposed them as heavy artillery, achieving notable success.

With the expansion of Sun Cheng's Decepticon engineering team, he had handpicked several members to specialize in studying the weaponry invented by various human nations on Earth. Their goal was to understand the design principles and adapt these original models, making modifications more suitable for the Decepticons.

Clearly, the 30mm M61 cannons mounted on these three spaceships were a result of Sun Cheng's directive.

The Decepticons, with their superior manufacturing technologies far beyond Earth's capabilities and Base Two's mastery over several new types of alloys, had crafted their version of the Vulcan Cannon. Equipped with specialized ammunition, these cannons were ideally suited for engaging Decepticon Vehicons, making the task almost trivial.

One significant advantage was their smaller size compared to missiles, meaning that, in the same space, a warship could carry tens of thousands, if not more, rounds of this ammunition.

At that moment, they were reaping the Vehicons on the ground with insane efficiency.

"Da-da-da-da..."

The three warships that had rushed to support Sun Cheng and his forces were evidently equipped with the same pseudo-Artificial Intelligence as the Hope-class. Six of the newly modified Vulcan Cannons by Decepticon engineers were under the uninterrupted control of the Central Main Control AI on the warships, raining bullets with insane precision on each target.

The specialized rounds from the air-defense cannons could easily penetrate the armor of the Vehicons' mechanical bodies.

Those Vehicons on the ground, having just been hit by an electromagnetic pulse missile attack and significantly weakened, could only try to evade the barrages of missiles from the warships in a slow, clumsy manner.

But the three warships that had come to the rescue had no intention of letting them off easily.

Underneath the warships, the internal bomb bays swiftly opened. With the automated weapons system in operation, anti-ship missiles were transported to their launch positions and rapidly fired one after the other. Following that, an unending stream of more missiles poured down on the Decepticon Vehicons on the ground.

"Endgame!"

Sun Cheng grabbed a panic-stricken Vehicon trying to flee but accidentally bumped into him. With a forceful heave, he threw the Vehicon over his shoulder, sending him flying more than twenty meters away, before a missile accurately struck the Vehicon.

Swindle, relieved by the arrival of reinforcements, slackened and sat down heavily on the ground. Thunder, more alert than him, continued to hold his weapon at the ready.

"Ssst..."

While continuing their assault, the three warships slowly decreased their altitude. As the hatches gently opened, squads of fully-armed Decepticon soldiers briskly disembarked from the vessels.

Joining the fray in cleansing the ground of Vehicons, within minutes, the spark of the last Vehicon was extinguished.

The battle of Terindad Island had come to an end!
