Chapter 638: A Complete Rift (End)

Transformers Begin : Table of Content/Chapter List

XXX-----XXX-----XXX-----XXX

"What on earth are those Navy fools thinking? Do they really believe that with our meager force, we can handle the Autobots?" Colonel Williams' face had turned black with anger. Little did he expect that, just moments ago, he had specifically briefed his adjutant about the intricate situation here, over a hundred kilometers away on the Navy command ship stationed above the Red Sea.

But what did they do in return? They stabbed him in the back.

They actually continued to command transport helicopters, right in front of the Autobots' leader, to carry away the corpses of two Autobots. What kind of behavior was this?

It could only be described as a provocation, to say the least!

Just as he was about to release Ironhide, who was holding onto a Cobra-armed helicopter, he immediately grabbed it again upon witnessing this scene.

Optimus Prime was also furious, but his leadership qualities and composure made him restrain himself. "Ironhide, release that helicopter!" he commanded.

He then looked back at Colonel Williams. "Major, I hope you can resolve this matter."

Colonel Williams reluctantly nodded, then quickly pressed the communication device on his ear, connecting with two Navy helicopters in the sky.

"I am Commander William of the Tombwind Unit. Immediately cease transporting Autobot corpses... Repeat, cease transporting Autobot corpses."

"Sorry, sir... Our orders are to immediately transport the alien corpses to the USS San Antonio!" The Navy transport helicopter pilot referred to the USS San Antonio, the first vessel of the USS San Antonio-class dock landing ship.

It was one of the Navy ships involved in this covert operation to transport Autobot corpses, which varied in weight from several tons to dozens of tons.

The Navy transport helicopters refused to comply with Colonel Williams' command, leaving him both angry and anxious. He had dealt with the Autobots for over a year and had some understanding of Optimus Prime and the others.

Especially Ironhide, known for his explosive temper. Even though he reluctantly followed Optimus Prime's orders and released the Cobra-armed helicopter, his compliance came with a condition: the Autobots still had to believe that Colonel Williams could control the situation.

If things spiraled out of control, and the Navy continued recklessly, a battle might erupt today.

Colonel Williams wanted to negotiate further, but as a high-ranking Navy officer, he embodied their domineering attitude of the past half-century.

Apparently, the recent bombing operation in Jordan had made the Americans believe in their own capabilities once more.

Now, Colonel Williams still wanted to make an effort, but the two helicopters were already hovering in the air, each carrying the corpse of an Autobot, preparing to leave from an altitude of twenty to thirty meters.

"It seems, Major, your words are in vain..."

Optimus Prime looked at Colonel Williams with regret. He had been thoroughly provoked by the shameless and domineering behavior of the United States. As a result, he no longer stopped Ironhide, who was already seething with anger.

"Ironhide, take them down!"

Optimus Prime understood the implications of his order - a complete rupture with the United States, with whom they had once cooperated.

However, as the leader of the Autobots, his first duty was to protect his own kind, followed by Earth and its people. On this, Optimus Prime was clear.

Ironhide had been waiting for this command. His spirits lifted, and his arms transformed into two grenade launchers.

Colonel Williams, seeing this, waved his hands frantically and shouted, "Optimus Prime, Ironhide, calm down!"

"At a time like this, why not negotiate with your superiors, Humans?" Ironhide stared at him coldly and immediately opened fire with the grenade launchers he held in both hands.

"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh..."

Twelve grenades were fired in succession. They not only precisely hit the two CH-53 transport helicopters that were about to carry the Autobot corpses away but also struck eight other U.S. military helicopters hovering in the air, causing them to crash and explode into fireballs.

Two other grenades went straight for the colorful steel fence, creating two enormous breaches.

"It's over!"

Colonel Williams closed his eyes in agony. He knew that the Autobots had completely severed ties with the United States, and cooperation was no longer possible.

Ironhide's initiative had caused Optimus Prime to furrow his brows slightly, but he didn't reprimand him because the actions of the United States had even provoked his usually good-natured disposition.

"Major, have your men surrender. We've had a pleasant cooperation in the past, and the Autobots won't harm our friends."

Optimus Prime waved his hand, and the other Autobot warriors behind him immediately produced their weapons. Apart from the two who remained to protect Optimus Prime and guard Colonel Williams and the others, the rest followed Ironhide and Arcee behind the colorful steel fence to stop the U.S. military from continuing to steal Autobot corpses.

Colonel Williams hesitated for a moment, then sighed deeply.

"Tombwind Unit, everyone, do not resist. I'll take responsibility for everything."

After giving the order to all the soldiers in the Tombwind Unit through the communicator, Colonel Williams removed his communication device.

He knew that after this mission, he would have to report to the military police.

As for when he could retire and go home to be with his wife and daughter, only the heavens knew.

Facing dozens of fully armed Autobots, even though over a hundred members of the Tombwind Unit behind the colorful steel fence were armed to the teeth, and they even had a dozen or so Navy-assisted armored transport vehicles and armed Humvees, it was still of no use.

So when Colonel Williams ordered them not to resist, after dozens of Autobots rushed in, all the soldiers of the Tombwind Unit placed their weapons on the ground and raised their hands in surrender.

"Major, thank you for your cooperation!" Optimus Prime didn't give Colonel Williams a hard time. Seeing that the American soldiers did not resist, he simply had a few Autobots escort them outside the colorful steel fence. All their weapons remained inside the fence, so there was no risk of them escaping or causing trouble.

Ironhide, along with several Autobots, went to retrieve the corpses of the two Autobots that had just been prepared for transport by the helicopters.

The armored plating on the bodies of the Autobots killed in action was much tougher than the helicopters on Earth, so even though they had fallen from a height of over ten meters after the explosion, they were not damaged.

The Autobots dug up all the corpses they had buried in the sand pit before Ironhide and counted. He was furious and picked up his weapon, walking towards Colonel Williams.

"Leader, six of our comrades' corpses are missing. Those damn pirates must have stolen them!"

After saying that, he aimed his gun at Colonel Williams.

"Wait, wait..." Colonel Williams raised his hands and gestured while defending himself, "Before you arrived, we did transport six corpses, but I'm just an ordinary soldier, and that was ordered from above."

Optimus Prime stopped Ironhide and gestured to an inconspicuous recording device nearby. He nodded, and it immediately entered an improved M4 command vehicle parked in one corner of the fence.

Soon, with a loud explosion, the recording device quickly descended from the command vehicle and grabbed William, throwing him high into the air.

"Damn, you damn bastards..."

The recording device cursed and was about to kick Colonel Williams again, but Optimus Prime stopped it with his hand.

Seeing Optimus Prime looking at him, he waited for the reason.

The recording device did not hide its anger and pointed at Colonel Williams, saying, "I just hacked into their command system. The six corpses of our comrades were sent to a U.S. Navy ship anchored over a hundred kilometers away on the Red Sea... According to the communication content I decrypted, the Navy has summoned a naval air strike unit, preparing for a destructive attack against us..."

This was not the only reason for its anger; the recording device had a good relationship with Bumblebee, and they shared the same hobby.

"...These damn Humans, just a few days ago, in Jordan, they stole all the corpses of Bumblebee and Ratchet, and they have now been transported to the United States, ready to dissect and research weapons to kill us Autobots."

This statement made all the Autobots furious.

Whether it was Bumblebee or Ratchet, they were both officers under Optimus Prime and had more influence than ordinary Autobots.

Optimus Prime's chest also heaved, and disappointment filled his eyes as he looked at Colonel Williams.

He sighed and said to Arcee, "Take them aside, don't trouble them anymore."

This was the last thing Optimus Prime could do for this former Autobot friend, but it also meant that he was truly disappointed in Humans, or rather, the United States.

"Recording device..."

Optimus Prime looked at the mini Autobot again. "I need you to gather more detailed information about everything related to Ratchet and the others!"

Seeing Ironhide still seething with anger, he reassured his old friend, "Ironhide, take a few Autobots to move our comrades' corpses. We need to awaken them quickly and, before the Americans dissect them, we must seize the corpses of our other comrades, as well as Ratchet and Bumblebee!"

"Yes, Leader!"

As soon as he heard that they were going to awaken their comrades, Ironhide broke free from his anger. He had great authority among the Autobots. After selecting about a dozen Autobots at random, he led them to move the corpses of the Autobots.

Optimus Prime then slowly took out the Leadership Module from his chest.

Only he knew that with every awakening and treatment of a fellow Autobot, a portion of the energy stored in the Leadership Module would be permanently lost.

And the energy stored in the Leadership Module was already running low.
