Although the military's progress seemed very slow from the data, with the development process currently at less than 30%, Sun Cheng still saw the excellence and potential of this new type of missile.
"Even though the number of submunitions that can be carried will decrease when the missile's size is reduced, and the explosive power will naturally decrease... The design concept of the 'Ground Multi-Point Precision Attack Bomb' is correct..."
In a very short time, Sun Cheng had simulated a set of solutions for the issues with the "Ground Multi-Point Precision Attack Bomb" in his mind. He even utilized the improved solutions he had learned in the "Transformers Universe" over the past period.
Cluster bombs are extremely dominant and extravagant weapons. They are dominant because the casing of a cluster bomb generally contains dozens to hundreds of submunitions, which, when detonated in a designated area, can destroy the entire region.
They are extravagant because cluster bombs are limited by factors such as wind and other variables, making it impossible for the submunitions within to accurately hit all the optimal points in the target area.
To achieve the explosive effect over the entire specified area, the number of submunitions in the casing of a cluster bomb far exceeds the explosive demand.
This undoubtedly increases the production of unexploded ordnance and the cost of cluster bombs. Therefore, in recent years, not only China, but other countries have also been developing similar missiles with precision strike capabilities.
Sun Cheng currently didn't have a very deep understanding of the military forces of various countries in the Real World. However, based on the intelligence collected by ai-001, he could only speculate that the various explosives developed by his own country might not be able to meet the requirements for the newly designed missiles.
But this didn't stump him!
More accurately, it shouldn't stump the Cybertronians.
In the "Transformers Universe," metallic hydrogen had long been used as a high-energy explosive, invented and used by the Cybertronians millions of years ago.
Both Autobots and Decepticons used metallic hydrogen in their ammunition. This was why seemingly inconspicuous handguns, grenade launchers, and micro-melee projectiles used by Autobots and Decepticons had explosive power far surpassing various human weapons.
Replacing the high-explosive materials used in cluster bombs with metallic hydrogen explosives could solve the issue of insufficient power in the submunitions of the new missile. It would also minimize the missile's size, increasing its practicality.
Additionally, Sun Cheng could have Decepticon engineers install a miniature control chip in each submunition.
He even thought about integrating a basic AI program into the control chip. This would not only ensure precise positioning of each submunition for optimal detonation but also give them some terrain and object value judgment capabilities. This would make each submunition "smarter," prioritizing the destruction of vital combat units or more valuable targets.
For Decepticon engineers highly skilled in nanoscale manufacturing, creating these miniature control chips posed no difficulty.
In reality, artificial intelligence is far less terrifying than depicted in science fiction movies and novels. Virtual works are often creations of one or a few individuals, limited by their creators' insufficient knowledge. As a result, even the most rigorous science fiction works can have various loopholes when scrutinized by readers and viewers.
This limitation is not something even the best AI scientists and engineers can guarantee.
In reality, the high-intelligence AI depicted in some science fiction movies and novels, capable of wiping out humanity at will, is almost impossible to achieve.
Not to mention that such highly intelligent AI, which surpasses human intelligence by far, can already be considered "intelligent life." It's something that today's human technology cannot create.
Creating such an intelligent AI is no longer limited to breakthroughs in hardware and software but could potentially delve into the realm of life itself, much like the mythical Creator.
Cybertronians are somewhat similar to these highly intelligent artificial life forms in human science fiction works, but in the "Transformers Universe," with a history spanning millions of years, the technology to nurture new Decepticons and Autobots is only possessed by a few top scientists among the Autobots and Decepticons.
From a technological standpoint, the difficulty is evident.
Although humans, as a species, have engaged in reckless behavior since the industrial age began, as technology advances and education becomes more widespread, with increasing levels of education among the population, people have become more cautious about behaviors that could threaten their own environment.
Because earlier science fiction works often portrayed artificial intelligence as antagonists, this has led to a situation where non-practitioners scrutinize every breakthrough in the field of AI almost under a microscope. They frequently stir up media and public concerns about the development of artificial intelligence and try to interfere.
Sun Cheng always felt these people were overly concerned because based on the industry information he had acquired, the most advanced artificial intelligence in various countries was still in the "pseudo-intelligence" stage. These so-called intelligent systems, created through vast databases and logical structures, might appear to think, but they merely execute missions according to the commands predefined by the designers. The real thinking is still done by the management teams behind the scenes.
At best, these "pseudo-intelligences" can be called "basic AI." Their development difficulty isn't very high. In fact, if Sun Cheng needed to, he could even create a set himself. The logic core would be Cybertronian text.
After mentally running through it, Sun Cheng had essentially finalized the improved solution for this new type of missile, which would also be greatly advantageous for the Decepticons. He then tapped the keyboard of the laptop that Revenge had transformed into.
"You don't need to clear these documents. Save them! By the way, Revenge, has there been any issue with the security at home these days?"
The files and data displayed on the screen quickly disappeared, and Revenge's cold electronic voice followed: "The data has been saved... The residential security rating is safe. Would you like to review the relevant records?"
Revenge had been left at home, responsible for the security of the residence.
All surveillance devices within the entire residential area were under its supervision. If necessary, it could even access information on all individuals entering and exiting the residential area during each time period.
Sun Cheng was a cautious person. Just a brief thought prompted him to ask again: "Has anyone come close to the villa recently?"
"Not at all... However, yesterday when Miss Ye Qi went out, the surveillance camera at the entrance of the residential area captured footage of a suspected tracker. Since they didn't enter the residential area, it wasn't factored into the residential security rating. Do you want me to retrieve the recorded information?"
In an instant, Sun Cheng's gaze turned ice-cold.
