ASFUCITWON Chapter 218: The Battle Begins 19

Many of them fell, and of the three main leaders, two had been killed—murdered by a single person, Reiji.

The figure now standing like a punishing god on the surface of the water.

And as they struggled to weigh their anger against reality, dozens of members of the Uzumaki Clan could be seen standing on the shore from a distance.

They wore dark red armor with a faintly glowing white spiral emblem under the sunlight.

Among them, some carried large tubes layered with seals—a cannon.

An ancient weapon once used by ordinary humans in warfare.

But this cannon was far from ordinary.

Its shape was alien, its carvings intricate, and the seals on its surface pulsed faintly as if alive.

A threatening aura emanated from its metal, instilling a creeping fear in the hearts of anyone who beheld it—quietly, yet gripping tightly.

Sweat began to flow from the temples of the Kirigakure and Sunagakure ninjas.

Though they were not afraid of death—because they were ninjas—they were not foolish either.

They knew when a battle was over, and when a fight turned into suicide.

And more than anything, they were human.

Humans with lives.

Children waiting for their parents to return.

Siblings unaware that today was the last day they would see the figures they admired.

Even elite ninjas were not immune to homesickness.

The choice became clear.

Fight and die in vain, or surrender and hope to return.

Finally, with heavy hearts and expressions full of disappointment, one by one they raised their hands.

Reiji nodded slowly.

There was no satisfaction on Reiji's face.

No victorious smile.

Reiji simply closed his eyes for a moment, as if taking a deep breath after the heavy burden he had carried throughout the day began to lift.

Then, in an instant, Reiji vanished.

A second later, Reiji appeared behind a ninja, tapping the person's shoulder.

The ninja suddenly fell into the sea, his eyes wide as his chakra had been sealed.

Reiji continued to move—like lightning, silently, touching the bodies of the ninjas one by one.

They fell, one by one, like puppets running out of energy.

Without chakra, they could no longer stand on the water.

The bodies plunged, creating large ripples and splashes that soaked the air with despair.

Some screamed in panic, while others awkwardly tried to swim, frustrated, embarrassed, and angry.

Reiji reappeared on the surface of the sea, standing tall near the shore.

Where Reiji gazed at them all—thousands of ninjas now helplessly floating in the blue sea reflecting the twilight.

"Alright! Those of you who surrender, feel free to swim here, to the shore," Reiji said lightly, a thin smile hanging at the corner of his lips.

The ninjas fell silent.

Some stared wide-eyed, in disbelief.

Others could only look at Reiji with a mix of shock and suppressed frustration.

"What is this? Why isn't our chakra sealed until we reach the shore?!"

That was what they wanted to shout.

Yet none dared to voice it.

Only their eyes spoke—and that gaze was sharper than a sword, louder than a scream.

They swam toward the shore in a chilling silence, occasionally casting glances at Reiji—a cold stare that, if it could kill, might have drowned Reiji before he reached the sand.

And Reiji? He simply stood there, silent, watching them calmly.

Reiji's eyes were cold—like the ocean in winter, still, reflecting no compassion whatsoever.

Reiji did not move. No need to.

Reiji was not just winning.

Where Reiji had destroyed something deeper than the body—his spirit.

Comments

i think their spirit is a better choice of words in the end of the chapter than his spirit.
