Chapter 262: The Story of Kaori 5
Added 2025-01-04 12:02:56 +0000 UTC"... Damn woman..." Haruto muttered quietly, but it was loud enough for Hisami to hear.
Hisami's eyes narrowed sharply, her anger immediately ignited. "What did you say?" Hisami shouted. In a swift motion, she grabbed a vase from the table and threw it with all her might, right towards the wall near Haruto.
Crack!
The vase shattered into pieces, sharp shards flying and grazing Haruto's back. Haruto winced in pain but did not make a sound. Blood began to seep through Haruto's shirt, slowly dripping onto the floor.
"Get out of here, you useless brat!" Hisami yelled, her face flushed with rage. "You should realize that a disgusting and talentless child like you only lives in this family out of pity! If it weren't for that, you would have been dead a long time ago!"
Haruto did not respond. With a cold and hateful gaze, he turned and walked out of the room. Haruto's back felt hot and sore from the open wound, but he held back any sound of pain.
After leaving the room, Haruto immediately headed to the Sato family's private clinic. The clinic was located in the east wing of their large house, a special place for treating the wounds and illnesses of family members.
The medical staff quickly attended to Haruto's back injury. They carefully cleaned it, stitched the torn parts, and wrapped it with thick bandages. Throughout the process, Haruto sat silently, his gaze empty. The pain in his body was nothing compared to the pain that struck his heart.
Once the treatment was finished, Haruto returned to his room. He then closed the door quietly, his body feeling heavy as if all his energy had been drained. Haruto walked to the edge of the bed and sat down, his hands trembling.
"I'm sorry... Forgive me... Forgive me..." Haruto whispered hoarsely, tears streaming down his cheeks. He cried, his head bowed, his shoulders shaking violently. Those words were directed at Kaori, even though Haruto knew that the woman was no longer in the Sato residence.
Haruto felt shattered. Guilt and helplessness flooded over him, like waves crashing relentlessly.

Meanwhile, Kaori, who had been dismissed by the Sato Family, walked heavily towards the West District, where her family lived. The cold air that night felt bone-chilling, but Kaori's heart was much colder. She carried only a few belongings, clinging to the hope that her family would be a source of comfort amidst the chaos she was experiencing.
However, who would have thought that even greater trials awaited Kaori there? Upon arriving in the West District, Kaori found her family home empty and dilapidated, a sign that no one lived there anymore. A neighbor who recognized Kaori, with a face full of pity, delivered the heartbreaking news.
Kaori's father had apparently been in deep debt, a debt that had continued to grow until their family home was seized by collectors. Kaori's mother, unable to bear the pressure, had died from shock. The loss of his wife left Kaori's father devastated, leading him to decide to end his own life.
Kaori could only stand frozen in front of the house that was once full of memories. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she heard the tragic story. Kaori had never imagined her life would change so drastically in such a short time.
Now, her father's debt had fallen into Kaori's hands. Even though she had not borrowed the money, her father's death meant that Kaori had no choice but to take on that responsibility.
Kaori tried to find temporary housing in the West District. The environment there was not too harsh, but it was still difficult to survive without money. Kaori, who was pregnant, faced an even greater challenge.
