F/VoH Ch 127: Heading to the Cursed Territory

Cheonghee did not answer, only touching the screen of the device. A few seconds later, a cold and calm voice came from the other side of the communication. The voice brought a strange sensation, like shards of ice piercing into the heart.

"What is it, Cheonghee?"

"We have met," Cheonghee explained bluntly, "and the Royal Forces have surrounded our exit. Can you... handle them all?"

There was a brief pause on the other end, long enough for Amanda to wonder who exactly they were contacting. Then the voice returned, this time colder but filled with certainty. "... Where?"

"The Cursed Territory," Cheonghee replied without hesitation.

"Alright. Wait there," said the voice, and then the communication was cut off.

Amanda stared at Cheonghee, curiosity mixed with anxiety clearly visible on her face. "Who did you contact? Can that person really help us?"

Cheonghee looked at Amanda with a thin smile, full of an almost eerie confidence. "That person can. Trust me. That person will ensure that not a single Royal Force will leave without paying a steep price."

Amanda swallowed again. Cheonghee's words echoed in Amanda's mind, but she couldn't shake off the discomfort growing in her chest. Whoever they had contacted, Amanda knew one thing: that figure was not an ordinary person.

Ryan stood at the window, gazing at the dark night sky. The faint moonlight cast sharp shadows on the walls of the simple inn room. After receiving a call through Rosseline's Magic Handphone, Ryan knew it was time to act.

"Are you just going to go alone, Young Master Ryan?" asked Ellina, her voice carrying an unmistakable tone of concern. Ellina's gentle gaze hinted at doubt, even though she knew Ryan's abilities surpassed those of ordinary humans.

Ryan looked at Ellina for a moment, his cold and emotionless eyes making her bite her lip. "Yes, it won't be a problem, so don't worry," Ryan replied in a flat tone, as if stating an undeniable fact.

Ellina took a deep breath. "Then please take care of yourself, Young Master Ryan," she said, forcing a smile onto her face.

Charlotte, standing near the door, chimed in enthusiastically despite the anxiety in her eyes. "Yes, be careful, Master!"

Ryan nodded briefly, then turned to Rosseline, who was leaning against the table with her usual flat expression. "Rosseline, I entrust them both to you."

Rosseline raised an eyebrow and replied disinterestedly, "I know. Besides, am I not the one who will be protected by both of them?" she said, glancing at Ellina and Charlotte. Rosseline knew that the abilities of the two women far exceeded those of ordinary women, so she did not take Ryan's concerns seriously.

Without saying more, Ryan stepped out of the inn. "I'm leaving," Ryan said briefly before disappearing into the dark night.

On the way to the Cursed Territory, Ryan moved with steady steps. The shadows of the large trees lining the road looked like monsters lurking in the night, but Ryan remained calm.

As he walked, Ryan rummaged through the storage from the System and pulled out several items. One by one, Ryan then equipped them.

First, a triangular earring that Ryan placed in his left ear. The metal shimmered as if covered in ice that would never melt. Second, a ring with a design resembling rippling water on it, which Ryan wore on his middle finger. Finally, a simple round black hat that looked ordinary but concealed a strong magical aura.

Once everything was ready, Ryan paused for a moment under a large tree resembling a dark tower. He extended his hand and then opened the status screen.
