F/VoH Ch 126: You Didn't Come Alone?

Amanda stared at the tree for a moment, sensing something strange around her. She knew that this place had never felt safe.

However, Amanda sighed and continued her journey, trying to stay focused on her main objective.

Not long after, someone appeared before Amanda, walking down the path with calm steps. Seeing the person approach alone, Amanda felt a bit relieved.

As part of the agreement made earlier, only trusted individuals were supposed to be present. However, as the woman got closer, Amanda felt that something was off.

"So, are we in agreement?" Amanda asked in a serious tone, looking directly into the woman's eyes.

The woman, who turned out to be Cheonghee, looked at Amanda with an unreadable expression before finally speaking in a sarcastic tone, "… You didn't come alone."

"What?" Amanda immediately turned, searching for someone around them.

"I've checked the entire area outside and around the entrance to the Cursed Territory. So, I know there are some people waiting there," Cheonghee said flatly. "Didn't I tell you to come alone?"

Amanda felt shocked. She quickly scanned the surroundings but found nothing suspicious.

"I didn't bring anyone!" Amanda replied with a serious face, trying to convince Cheonghee.

Cheonghee did not respond immediately; instead, she raised her hand, and a transparent screen suddenly appeared from a ring encircling Cheonghee's finger.

On the screen, a clear image showed a group of people hiding behind the trees at the exit of the Cursed Territory, the place Amanda had just passed.

Amanda fell silent, her eyes widening at the sight of them. "Them!" Amanda exclaimed in shock. "I’m sure no one noticed me coming here!"

"Really?" Cheonghee said mockingly. "Then what is this?" Cheonghee pointed to the screen displaying a clearer image of the group.

"They're not part of my plan!" Amanda sighed. "I came here secretly, without bringing anyone!"

Cheonghee simply stared at Amanda, but her eyes hinted at suspicion. "I know, look at them. They seem ready to fight anyone who comes out of the Cursed Territory," Cheonghee said. "In other words, they are just waiting to ambush you. So, they must be part of the Royal Army."

"Does that... mean..." Amanda murmured, her face pale, her eyes filled with disbelief. Amanda's body trembled as the horrifying thought filled her mind. Betrayal.

The atmosphere around them felt increasingly cold, even though the night was actually quite warm. The possibility of infiltrators among the Rebel Forces who had been following her every move sent shivers down Amanda's spine. Her trust in her comrades was now severely shaken.

"So... what should we do?" Amanda asked with a trembling voice, turning to look at Cheonghee. Amanda's eyes searched for hope, but all she found was the cold calmness of the woman before her. With just the two of them against hundreds of Royal Army soldiers surrounding them, their chances seemed impossible.

Cheonghee looked toward the narrow gate in front of them, the only exit now heavily guarded. "We don't have many options," Cheonghee said, calm yet authoritative. "If we try to escape without a plan, it would be the same as committing suicide."

Amanda swallowed hard. Their options were limited, and time was not on their side. Amanda's breath came out heavy, realizing that every passing second brought them closer to the brink of death.

However, Cheonghee, with remarkable composure, reached into her pocket and pulled out a small device that emitted a dim light. Amanda looked at the device in confusion. "Is that... a magic handphone?" Amanda murmured, incredulous.
