F/VoH Ch 125: The Cursed Territory

Now, Amanda looked like an 18-year-old girl, with short dark blue hair, a pair of soft yet mysterious brown eyes, and rough skin, as if marking a hard life on the streets. With this new appearance, Amanda left her room in the rebel headquarters without raising suspicion.

As Amanda moved cautiously, she sneaked through the dark hallways of the rebel branch headquarters and then made her way through the quiet alleys of the city. Amanda's skills in hiding her presence made her seem almost transparent, a shadow that vanished in the dim light of the night. No one noticed her footsteps, or at least, that’s what Amanda thought.

Unbeknownst to Amanda, several forces from the Kingdom had detected her presence. They used special devices to scan for living beings in the area. A small group of them noticed the presence of someone who seemed suspicious in disguise and immediately reported it to their superiors.

Meanwhile, Amanda continued on, unaware of the threat lurking behind her. Her thoughts were focused on the grand plan that weighed on every step she took. Every sound of footsteps, faint shadows, or gusts of wind that night added to her anxiety, yet Amanda struggled hard to suppress her worries. The meeting point was getting closer.

Amanda then arrived at a forest that looked different from the usual ones. Before her, dead or very old trees stretched out with fragile branches. A strange aura felt so strong in the air, enveloping the area in a chilling silence. This was the Forest of the Cursed Territory, the place they had agreed to meet.

In this world, there are several places known as Cursed Territories. These places earned that nickname because anyone who dares to approach will be struck by a curse. Each Cursed Territory has a different curse, each with a unique way of punishing its visitors.

Not many know the exact reason why Cursed Territories appear in various parts of the world. However, there are a few who understand that this is related to the impending invasion of the God of Chaos. Even so, information about the origins of the Cursed Territories is rarely known by many. This has led to the circulation of various rumors that further distort the general understanding of these places.

Because so few people know the origins of the Cursed Territories, not much chaos occurs around these places. If that information were to spread widely, a great panic could ensue, and it would only hasten the arrival of the God of Chaos. That is why many people prefer to remain silent, fearing they might get caught up in a larger conflict.

Now, Amanda had arrived in the Cursed Territory to carry out the planned meeting. Although the atmosphere felt very strange and uncomfortable, meetings like this had occurred often enough. That’s why there was no need to worry if the battle didn’t last long.

Anyone who stays in the Cursed Territory too long will receive a curse, which will compel them to leave the place immediately. Thus, meetings or transactions conducted within the Cursed Territory usually do not last long. That is why this place is an ideal choice for meeting or conducting important transactions—because anyone who is late to leave will feel the consequences.

After walking for a few minutes, Amanda finally arrived at a large tree that looked very strange. The tree was very old, with a cracked bark and branches drooping to the ground, giving the impression that it could barely stand anymore.

However, what was more striking were the three large holes in its trunk—two small holes at the top and one large hole at the bottom, as if the tree had a frightening face, grinning with a dark and empty gap.
