F/VoH Ch 115: Discussing Information
Added 2024-11-03 12:23:29 +0000 UTC'Why does this woman seem to hate them so deeply?' Ellina thought. Perhaps the summoned Heroes had truly done something unacceptable, something that crossed a line. Anxiety began to gnaw at Ellina's mind, raising larger questions about morality in their struggle.
"So now... will you help us?" Ellina asked in a calm tone. The tranquility emanating from Ellina this time was genuinely sincere, without a trace of the threat that had been evident before. There was something different in Ellina's voice, as if she had found a new conviction.
"Yes," Cheonghee replied, a faint smile appearing on her face, but behind that smile was an undeniable firmness. "I will help you overthrow the Kingdom of Polons. We will create a much better future for everyone."
Ellina's eyes glanced towards Charlotte, where she saw a reflection of doubt slowly fading away. Charlotte, with a serious yet supportive gaze, nodded her head, as if giving approval for this step.
"Alright," Ellina said those words with full confidence, a slight smile spreading across her face. "We will accept you... Welcome to this group, Cheonghee."
"Yes, thank you for accepting me!" Cheonghee replied, a bright smile lighting up her face. There was a new light in Cheonghee's eyes, an overflowing enthusiasm to face the challenges ahead.
Ryan finally breathed a sigh of relief as the previously tense atmosphere eased a bit. Ryan looked at his companions with a trusting gaze, as if their presence had now become a strength in itself. Ryan started the conversation again with a warmer tone.
"Now that you all know each other, how about we discuss what we have found so far?" Ryan asked with a slight smile. Ryan's gaze shifted one by one to each person, showing hope that this discussion could reveal more secrets from the complicated situation.
Ellina, sitting quietly in the corner, folded her hands in her lap before speaking. "I managed to gather information that the Heroes are training inside the Dungeon," Ellina said softly, yet firmly. "From what I've heard, they want to significantly increase their power. They might be preparing for something, but we still don't know exactly what."
Ryan nodded, listening attentively. Ryan's eyes were now on Charlotte, who immediately continued.
"Recently, there have indeed been many conflicts," Charlotte said with a slightly cynical tone, recalling all that she had witnessed.
"Common people are increasingly clashing with the City Guard, even with the Royal Soldiers. The constantly rising taxes are making the people angry, and the King..." Charlotte scoffed softly, "...that man truly doesn't care about them. It's like a ticking time bomb ready to explode at any moment."
The hidden anger in Charlotte's tone made the atmosphere in the room tense again. Ryan could feel the rage and frustration bubbling in Charlotte's words. Now, Rosseline took her turn, and her face looked serious.
"The Rebel Forces are also becoming more desperate," Rosseline said. "They have created strange devices that can trigger unrest unexpectedly. Simple, but very effective in diverting the attention of the Royal Soldiers and the City Guard."
Ryan frowned, thinking about the effects of these mysterious devices. He didn't like unexpected surprises, and now they were facing even more uncertainty. Ryan then glanced at Cheonghee, who realized it was now her turn to speak.
Cheonghee nodded slowly before speaking. "The Rebels have approached us several times to collaborate," Cheonghee said in a flat tone, but her eyes sparkled with calculation. "We haven't confirmed anything yet, but now... perhaps it's time to consider their offer. They could be a useful source of information—if we can ensure that there are no traitors among them."
