F/VoH Ch 93: Planning a Strategy to Gather Information
Added 2024-10-19 12:52:05 +0000 UTCHowever, since Charlotte is one of the Assassins, only two Assassins remain, instead of the three that were supposed to be there.
Ryan hoped that this time luck would be on his side—he desperately needed a second Assassin. The ability to conduct reconnaissance and carry out stealth attacks was invaluable for the upcoming mission.
Ryan carefully considered various possibilities. If Ryan did not get an Assassin, the second-best option would be a Rider or an Archer. Both Classes had advantages that could help in long-range combat and mobility, something they desperately needed in the current situation.
However, what worried Ryan the most was the possibility of getting a Berserker. Although Berserkers are known for their incredible resilience and physical strength, they are often difficult to control. In reconnaissance missions and stealth operations like this, the presence of a Berserker was more likely to be a burden than an asset.
Ryan's thoughts continued to swirl, analyzing every possibility with care. He stared at his reflection in the window, realizing how crucial this decision was. If Ryan made the wrong choice, it could be fatal. But there was no other way—Ryan had to perform the summoning tonight. And the best place for that was in the quietest and most forgotten part of the city—the slums on the outskirts of Bertord City.
Although the entire city seemed like a giant slum, with dilapidated houses and dusty streets, Ryan knew there was a place that was truly isolated, where even the shadow of a human was rarely seen. High taxes and rampant unemployment had created suffocating poverty in every corner of the city.
Homeless people scattered across various streets made Bertord City a grim and dangerous place. However, Ryan had found one location that was quieter than any part of the city—a dark, forgotten area where even beggars were reluctant to stay. That was where Ryan would perform the summoning, far from prying eyes.
Ryan took a deep breath, preparing himself. "Tonight," Ryan murmured softly, his sharp gaze piercing the evening sky outside. "Tonight, everything will change."
Time passed quickly after they rested. As night approached, they all gathered in Ryan's room. The atmosphere in the room felt tense, despite only thin wooden walls separating them from the outside world.
Ryan, with quick and practiced movements, covered the window with thick cloth, ensuring there were no gaps for anyone to peek through, then locked the door. After making sure everything was secure, Ryan began to activate the Reality Marble—a skill Ryan used to create a space outside of reality.
In an instant, the room transformed. They were no longer in the cramped, dark inn room, but in an endless white space, as if standing in the middle of emptiness. This was a world that only the three of them could access, a place where any conversation would remain safe from prying ears.
In this world stood Ryan, with Ellina, Charlotte, and Rosseline. The three women waited attentively, knowing that what Ryan was about to say was surely important.
"Tonight, I want all of you to search for clues throughout this city," Ryan's voice sounded firm yet calm. Ryan's gaze then sharpened, indicating that he had thought everything through carefully. "Ellina," Ryan continued calmly, "you go to various places to gather information about the Rebel Forces. Collect anything you can find, whether it's gossip, rumors, or conversations you might overhear."
Ellina nodded, her eyes showing seriousness, although there was a hint of concern on her face.
"Same goes for you, Charlotte. Go and seek any information related to those forces, or anything we can use to our advantage."
