This totally makes sense! Being able to binge shows has kind of ruined weekly release shows for a lot of people! I'm very excited for the rest of the season!

Thank you! Copy and pasted and forgot to change the title! Yes, I think going right into it was a little rough but excited for the rest of the season!

In my opinion, a lot of people didn't like this season cause they couldn't binge it. They have to wait week after week for the new episodes as oppose to the majority of people who saw season 1 and binged it. The series wasn't a hit right away and took time for it to gain such massive popularity thus allowing the majority of viewers hearing about the show, to watch all the episodes right away and get their questions answered with the next episode.
I personally liked the first episode cause it kept me engaged on what was going on (especially when I realized we were only getting the innie perspective this episode) and kept me eager to know why they all came back. Season 2 is a bit of a slow burn because the foundation for the show and its mysteries has been set, and it needs time to tell the story right.

I am totally with you on your reaction to this first episode. As a matter of fact it’s one of the season 2 episodes I rarely rewatch along with reactors because its so underwhelming to me but just wait until you see the next episode. It got me completely excited about the possibilities of what was to come for the rest of the season!

Nah, you guys are right. They blue balled the fans for 3 years and came back with a weak af season 2 first episode. The rest of season 2 is great tho. Trust in Kier.

Dylan still has the best lines, "I'm really good at what I do here, whatever it is."

Fun fact: Ben Stiller initially planned for Obama to voice the Lumon building, but he couldn't end up making it work- which let to Keanu Reeves becoming the voice

FYI - this episode is called "Hello, Ms Cobel" rather than "The We We Are" (which was the title of the Season 1, Episode 9).
Coming straight from Season 1's finale, I can see why the first episode of the second season might feel underwhelming. But I imagine after 3 years of waiting, loyal viewers would have calmed down by then!
Like Season 1, the first few episodes in Season 2 will set things up for the last few episodes (which are really great!). In retrospect, I can see how well the writers structured the season, but you probably won't see it until you watch the whole season. For example, this episode only focuses on the impact of the Innies after last season's development. The next episode will be from a different perspective.
Just a heads-up that you should expect some slow episodes, but the whole season will reward you with your patience, though!

I'll just say that season 2 has some very high highs and some very low lows. Excited for season 3, though! Good discussion at the end. :)

Agreed, season 2 started off puzzling.. As we know it was nearly 3 years between seasons, so I also wonder if even the writers lost continuity of the story also. LOL No one acted with the passion they had in season 1 last few episodes, especially Mark on knowing his wife was actually not dead.. hmmmm..

Good choice of words when saying you must "temper" your expectations. This aligns with the teachings of Kier. He will be proud of you.
Praise Kier!

Severance! Love the opening scene here, taking the original walk through the hallways with Innie Mark back in 1x01 and kicking it up into this hyper-kinetic sprint. Also love Innie Mark's overall attitude in this one: the mischievous grin on his face when he tricks Milchick and the replacement MDR gang into checking out the kitchen while he runs off to communicate with the board to get his team back...fucking-A!
