Ace in the Hole is also peak Wilder. Think someone had it in the spin wheel once. I remember hunting down a bootleg of it circa 2000(it didn't have an official dvd or even vhs at the time!) Spike Lee has programmed it on TCM, he's a huge fan.

As someone else mentioned below, Richard Erdman, who played the barracks chief, Hoffy, would go onto play the eccentric elderly student Leonard on "Community." Also, agree with those below noting director Billy Wilder, who was one of the greatest directors in movie history. Double Indemnity (1944) would be my most-wanted Wilder for the channel, along with Some Like It Hot (1959), Sunset Boulevard (1950) -- which also has William Holden, and The Apartment (1960), along with many others. Also, if you haven't seen Chicken Run (2000), that's in part heavily influenced by Stalag 17.
