Re the cold opening: in an earlier episode, Jimmy takes Kim to look at a house they may one day buy together. This is that house!

I have some information regarding the opening scene that may add a little more appreciation to how much thought they put into this show. The episode name is Wine and Roses, and the music playing in the opening is The Days of Wine and Roses, which was written by Harry Mancini who wrote it for the movie of the same name starring Jack Lemmon and Lee Remmick (which is also an excellent movie). Now, the IMDB description says its about an alcoholic who systematically addicts a young woman to booze so that they can share his "passion" together. That to me parallels Jimmy and Kim's relationship. He addicted her to the thrills of pulling of cons. The feeling of being superior to other people and being smarter or more clever. And as a result of their addiction they suffer a downward spiral. These people are geniuses.
Also as a side note, the orchestra playing the music is the Jackie Gleason Orchestra, which surprised me as I only associated him with acting and had no idea he was also involved in music. Yall might be to young to remember the Honeymooners a sitcom from the 50s, but he had a run in that and also in movies. If yall end up watching The Hustler (I think its leading a poll) he plays the antagonist in the movie "Minnesota Fats".
