2025-03-06 18:35:50 +0000 UTCwell it does have a female director(you've talked of how few have been reacted to on the channel in the past)

2025-03-04 04:15:38 +0000 UTCWell, I don't have strong feelings about Zero Dark Thirty, but, anything to defeat Taylor Sheridan. Not that I think the one-vote advantage I'm giving ZDF will hold (and even if it did, I'm sure a one-vote margin would guarantee both get watched).

2025-03-03 20:47:37 +0000 UTCI thought it would be most depressing for LW to come in last but it's even more depressing for it to tie with Green Book.

2025-03-03 20:46:19 +0000 UTCOoooo ended up voting for Zero Dark Thirty since not a lot of people have reactions to it. Hell or High Water is good too but I'm kind of burnt out with Taylor Sheridan (I love most of his stuff don't get me wrong) since a lot of his works feel similar and I'm currently watching two of his TV shows.

2025-03-02 23:06:17 +0000 UTCSAM, my pick as always is 'IDENTITY'! if you want to be on the edge of ur seat, go for a roller coaster ride, thrilled at every turn, SEE 'IDENTITY'! Tie up DANIEL to the chair, cut off all communication to the world, pop some popcorn, get ur security blanket, and watch 'IDENTITY'!!! 😱

2025-03-02 04:10:17 +0000 UTClooking at all the nominees from that decade, I think Tree of Life (2011) was the most acclaimed of all the nominees. It's frequently on greatest films of all time lists.

2025-03-02 02:01:46 +0000 UTCAs long as humanity can put Green Book to bed and pretend that bit of mess never happened, I'll endure whatever else we get here.

2025-03-02 01:40:45 +0000 UTCThat said, now it's looking like maybe it won't come in last. Only second-to-last, ahead of Hugo.

2025-03-02 01:34:30 +0000 UTCI can only speak to my own personal opinions; I'm not out to diss anyone who likes this stuff. That said, I'm a devout Taylor Sheridan hater -- deeply, deeply dislike that guy and all of his work, including Wind River, which I think I hated even more than this or Sicario -- and I feel similarly about Birdman, which I thought was snobby nonsense. Her sort of fell apart for me on subsequent viewings (although if TBR reacted to it, I'd watch it again), and the rest that I've seen I'm just middling on (haven't seen Bridge of Spies or The Fighter). I re-watched Three Billboards recently, and found it interesting even if I don't think Martin McDonagh gets Middle America at all. Other than Little Women, that's the one I'm closest to rooting for...but even then, I think it's an interesting, well-acted, deeply flawed movie, and I'd much, MUCH rather see McDonagh's In Bruges get a reaction here than Three Billboards (or his brother John Michael McDonagh's The Guard).

2025-03-02 01:30:38 +0000 UTCBirdman is one of my all time favorites such a technical masterpiece filmmaking wise and incredible acting by Michael Keaton

2025-03-02 01:25:59 +0000 UTCTragic that Little Women looks doomed to come in dead last. In my book, easily, easily topples everything else on this poll.
