Y'all have too much protagonist syndrome for Jimmy. LOL. You can't say Jimmy is how he is *because* of Chuck. He is awful to Jimmy, but Jimmy makes choices. He is a smart guy. Jimmy always thinks the ends justify the means, that's why he spent his previous life scamming people out of their money (or scamming a woman into sleeping with him).
Jimmy knew he didn't have permission to make the ad. He could have waited the weekend and show them. Make arguments in favor of airing the ad, and let the senior partners make an informed decision. It didn't need to be done without permission.
So yes, the ends justify the means. Jimmy's ends.
It is a big deal to run the ad without permission. Law firms that have big corporate clients do not want to be known as the firm that advertises on TV. The best and most profitable firms in the country - you never see ads for them on TV.
Law firms are all about reputation and relationships. Decades have been spent building and fostering relationships. It is old school business.
They also don't want to be a firm that walks a fine line between legal and illegal (ethical or unethical) ways of getting clients. ALL of Davis & Mains' clients are affected if they have a firm that walks that line.
And Kim was being punished for taking the lead on recommending Jimmy to Davis & Main. It reflects poorly on HHM.
This doesn't excuse Chuck's out-of-control vindictiveness, but y'all have to place some responsibility on Jimmy.
Edit: As always, I always enjoy your reactions.

When he appears in Season 1 he is wearing his Tampico Furniture shirt.

Tuco was actually supposed to be on Breaking Bad for a longer amount of time (he was killed early in Season 2). But the actor asked them to write him out of the show since playing the character was affecting his mental health. It just took too much out of him. And Breaking Bad was only watched by a small number of viewers at that time. It didn't become widely popular until after Season 3.
Another bit of trivia. Saul was supposed to go to Jesse's apartment and clean up after Jane overdosed, but Bob Odenkirk was not available to film during those specific days so they created the character of Mike.
It goes to show that both Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul aren't as planned out as you may think. The writers have ideas but they don't want to force things. They trust the creative process that episode by episode the story will unfold. For example, when they put that big gun in the trunk of Walter's car at the beginning of Season 5, they actually had no idea what they were going to do with it.

Season 5. Mike is on Lydia's hit list. Mike goes to Chow's house, prepared for a trap, he uses the toy as a distraction at the front door, so he can sneak in through the back.

Just curious, where did we see the toy pig in Breaking Bad?

It was Krazy-8, but he's not Krazy-8 yet.

I'm glad you saw the credits mentioning krazy-8. That was him sitting in front of Tuco. But, he's definitely not the same intimidating bad guy we've seen before, right now he's just a scared newbie; very green, like the shirt he's wearing.
These episodes are great, and just filled with cameos and easter eggs.
There's the toy pig, krazy-8, the Tampico logo, the arms dealer, and Kim is watching "Ice Station Zebra"
Keep your eyes peeled, there will be many more Breaking Bad easter eggs to come.

You are indeed right that was Krazy-8 in the taqueria. If you go back and watch episode 1 of season 1 of BCS, the other guys who were with Tuco are also in Breaking Bad. One of the fun things about rewatching this show via your channel is finding all the slick callbacks they made to Breaking Bad.

Aw, thought you'd recognize the gun dealer and Krazy-8. Both characters important to Walt's character development.
EDIT: Nvm, finished watching your discussion. :)
