Also, it was revealed in recent podcasts that the chief of base “Bob” was told by the Feb 17 commander that he was not sending anyone to help. So Bob in fact lied to everyone that Feb 17 was coming even though he knew they were not..
And they were basically straight up abandoned by the US government, with it largely being incompetence on part of the Obama administration and Hilary Clinton as she was the Secretary of State at the time (she was in charge of the state department who was responsible for the ambassador’s security)

Kris “Tanto” Paronto just had an interview on the Shawn Ryan podcast as well that came out on New Year’s Eve. He also hosts his own podcast called “Battleline Podcast”, there’s a couple episodes on his where he had Sarah Adams on as well.

So there are 3 with the CIA Targeter her name is Sarah Adams on the Shawn Ryan Podcast:
The first one is a two parter: at least on YouTube. I don’t remember if it is on Spotify.
Part 1
https://youtu.be/qSn-hC9H-EM?si=uGVusrtujgpS9L0j
Part 2
https://youtu.be/GEj_MbMDciY?si=aAZFxmkyJJsu2aiV
Her second appearance
https://youtu.be/3C48x9mHLfI?si=1Xp8N4vTN6SEUeyp
She talks about tracking down the mortar team that killed Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty in this one.
And she was just back on recently:

There is a lot of information in these and honestly they can be a little disheartening with the corruption of our government lol
Next is the one with Mark “Oz” Geist. He was the one who got hit by the mortar on the roof with Tyrone and Glen. And nearly lost his arm.
https://youtu.be/Q9i_es05rWc?si=vTxgNX1BReDaB8CT
And this one is Kris “Tanto” Paronto on the Afterburn Podcast with John Waters a retired Air Force Pilot.
Tanto was the one fighting in shorts lol

For the Shawn Ryan podcasts you can find those on Spotify if that’s easier. The other one I think is on Spotify, but I’m not positive.

for the most part, this film is pretty accurate to what happened. They never explicitly say in the movie, but basically our solders saw something they shouldn't have seen and got caught in the crossfire

You want to know why this turned into a shit show? The State Dept. was illegally running guns thru Libya. Every other country pulled their people out but not us. Why? People including the Sec. of State aka Hillary Clinton were making to much money. If this was a DOD operation they would have sent in air power but not the political folks at State might draw to much attention to what were doing.

I was in the LHD-3 ARG on LSD-50 in the early 2010s. Stopped in Aqaba too. Nothing but guard duty on the pier and CSW on the ship for a week. And fixing my jammed CIWS.

Great movie! And great reaction!
It is incredibly frustrating to watch though, I’ve watched multiple podcasts with the GRS operators (Oz, Tonto, and Boone) and from their recollection it seems to be a quite accurate account. The perception of the CIA chief seemed to be a little different from each GRS operator. But was shown accurately in the movie, Oz seemed to have a neutral relationship with him, and Tonto didn’t get along with him at all. And from the things I’ve read and watched it does seem he was quite incompetent during this whole thing. He didn’t seem to have much respect for the operators and didn’t believe they should be used as a quick reaction force.
There is also a CIA targeting officer who was stationed in Benghazi who left for Tripoli the morning before this attack who’s done multiple podcasts going over this attack. And even wrote a book with Boone tracking down the terrorists who attacked in Benghazi to bring them to justice. Her name is Sarah Adams, listening to all of them discuss the events is even more frustrating… They have also gotten little to no help from our state department with their work.

To this day, "13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi" is one of the best and most powerful movies I have ever seen.

In 2005, i was Aquba, Jordan after a scheduled 6 month deployment on the USS Kearsarge (LHD3). The reason we were in Jordan is that the Marines and Jordanian Marines were having a Joint Exercise. He had offloaded them and quite a bit of equipment a few days before and then the ship pulled into the port and we did appropriate Port Security, empty buildings out and some other things. We had been there for 3 days. The prior 2 days, we had taxis just outside the secured areas, trucks for trash, as well as taking on stuff like food and the like. That 3rd day, there was NOTHING outside. Then we were under attack by rockets. The ship was not damaged and no Americans were injured but a Jordanian Marine was killed. We immediately got underway. and turned BFC/BFS (Big Fucking Circles/Squares) in the Red Sea waiting for the Marines to finish the exercise. That was my 5th and last War Deployment.
Gas Masks DO NOT help you with smoke. They do not filter out smoke well. You need supplied air like a firefighter or an emergency device. We had to wear these bottles while on watch in the Engine Rooms, it was bottle of compressed air with a mouthpiece you kept in your mouth that gave you air. Nothing for eyes though. It was for escaping only.
Sam had mentioned about accuracy of shooting. Yeah, we practice quite a bit. I have 2 marksmanship medals (pistol, M4 rifle).

Copyright reasons. They can't risk showing their reaction with the actual movie visible or they could lose their channel

Not a hater. Just curious as to why not show the full reaction with the movie visible to us? Just a genuine question, love the vids

Hi Guys!! Loved your full reaction to this film. To Sam, when Rone Died that hit hard just because of John’s performance in that scene with his one tear drop and the one at the end. When they got back to the annex, GRS operators that were on the roof waiting for the enemy to attack, rules of engagement are can’t fire until fired upon, Operators had to make absolute sure enemies had weapons, to take a life and get it wrong is bad. To TBR, I remember watching the news of this on CNN back when it broke. It was very frustrating to watch this film also, I have many friends that served in Iraq and Afghanistan. my father served in Vietnam in 1969 his division was the big red one. To think that these guys got no American help whatsoever through the entire film was crazy. The now retired Chief of Station made a statement when the film came out in theaters, he basically said he never directly told the operators to stand down, two or three of the operators said he did say stand down. It’s political on one side and the other side it’s very black and white on what should have been done for these guys. The book was very fascinating to read. I learned a lot from. Never leave man or woman behind. I’ve never served but I am grateful and supportive of our military forces. Loved your breakdown of the film. Yes it’s tamer compared to M Bays other films. Bay understood the assignment since its true story, had to tell a story little different than he normally has. Look at the Rock from 1996, the film was based on a news article about service men dying in combat and not getting medals, pay outs for the families or even military burial. Rock even had some truth to it. This film 13 hours had a lot truths about government and military communications with each other. I think this film has held up well over the years. For me it’s the emotions that films brings out in the characters and people watching it. I watched your lone survivor reaction and that was hard to watch you guys reacting to it because what those characters went through.
Keep up the great work!! You guys are amazing people and you also do a very good job of making me laugh. I thank you again for being awesome reactors!!

great film! I read a book on this attack and got so angry! Our state dept specifically denied xtra security AFTER it was requested--so they knew the risk of a major terrorist attack and left this handful of soldiers to fend off like 500 attackers. It cost the life of the US ambassador Christopher Stevens and several of his security detail; all of which were ex special forces who worked as contractors with the CIA. these guys were super elite former soldiers

I'll watch when I get home. I will say only this, the budget for the 5 years before this happens had been cut every year for the Department of State for a total of over $250 Million dollars.
