Ugh. Everyone is watching THE HOLDOVERS 🙄 It's fine but overrated. Overrated movies are my new pet peeve.

Antmovies

If it's anything like the comment sections of other reaction videos for that specific film, expect a lot of politically charged comments.

Mario

We said in the video how curious we are to read the comments about how accurate it is haha good to know! -Sam

If we're talking about supporting Giamatti, I would also enjoy seeing reactions to his key roles in two very different comedian biopics, Man on the Moon (1999) and Private Parts (1997). Less likely -- no doubt a historic poll loser -- his great leading turn in Tamara Jenkins' underrated Private Life (2018).

👌👌👌

13 hours 😍

Also, even though it's only a supporting role for Giamatti, 'Cinderella Man' would be a great one too. He's so uplifting in that.

Paul Cox

i second Election :)

If you like Paul Giamatti check out Sideways (2004), there's like no reactions to it for some reason :/

The Holdovers is a sweet little movie, you'll enjoy that. 13 Hours is much requested, so you'll excite people by doing that one. Great selection there.

VonPunk

I actually never thought you two would cover The Holdovers, but now seeing this, it's a pleasant surprise! It was the best film of its year.

Brandon Royce

13 Hours great Movie, i am a great John Krasinski Fan. Maybe sometime in the Future, you could react to the Series "Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan" with Krasinski.

Michael Bauer

Wow, two great movies, going to be a good week

13 Hours is a good movie but please keep in mind that you shouldn't take the events depicted at face value.

Mario

Oh I need to watch the holdover again. Totally forgot it's a holiday movie.

Tinker

Great selections!

"The Holdovers" was one of those movies that would have won all kinds of Awards but had the bad timing of coming out in 2023, the same year that "Oppenheimer" came out which swept everything !

Keith Brown

13 hours! Nice!

Robin Cederholm

13 Hours! Finally!

I liked The Holdovers. That said, writer David Hemingson and director Alexander Payne are clearly drawing on The Last Detail (1973), directed by Hal Ashby, which is even better. (When The Last Detail was released on Blu-ray a few years ago, Payne even did a little video piece for the release, he loves it so much.) The Last Detail was written by Robert Towne (Chinatown), who passed away earlier this year, which is when I watched the movie for the first time, and it blew me away. Definitely put it on your list of things to consider for the channel. It's an all-timer. My two favorite Alexander Payne movies are the 1999 comedy Election, which many have described as "the reality of what Ferris Bueller might be up to as an adult," and his 2013 comedy/drama Nebraska. Highly recommend both of those as well.

The Holdovers was surprisingly deep and unconventional, for what could have been very clichéd.
