+1 for Return to Me

Mike Adams

A better Crowe/Cameron film: Vanilla Sky

Bonnie Hunt is always a joy! You should react to Return To Me, she wrote, directed, and acts in it. David Duchovny and Minnie Driver star in (my favorite) heartwarming romantic comedy.

Cameron Crow is an awesome director and you must absolutely watch "Almost Famous" which is loosely based on his life and lots of great music. Please watch it whether on this site or not you will love it. It may be his best movie ever. It stars people like Frances McDormand, Kate Hudson and Philip Seymour Hoffman. If you watch it hear I suggest the theatrical version.

I hadn't seen this in a long time so it was nice to revisit. There's a lot of great music cameos in this movie, since Cameron Crowe was a writer for Rolling Stone. Jan Wenner the founder of Rolling Stone plays the head of the agency Jerry worked for, but he has no lines. Jerry Cantrell from Alice in Chains plays the guy at the copy shop. Glen Frey from The Eagles plays the coach for the Falcons. Also one of the divorced ladies was played by Cameron Crowe's mom, who always had small roles in his movies. If you guys watch Almost Famous I'd go with the "Untitled" director's cut version of the movie. It has a big ensemble cast and the longer version just has so many little character moments that are missing from the theatrical version. It's one of my favourites, so I might be a little biased though.

Great Film !!! And once again a great Reaction Guys !!! Next Rom Com Must Be Pretty Woman Guys ;) The Mother of Rom Com :) But this was a real good Film with great Acting..I Think this was RenΓ© Zellwegers First Big Role !!! I recommend "Nurse Betty" from 2000 with Morgan Freeman, "Me, Myself and Irene" with Jim Carrey and of course "Bridget Jones" from 2001 ... For more Tom Cruise you must check out "The Firm" from 1993 with a Great Gene Hackman and Martin Scorseses "The Color of Money" from 1985 with a Great Paul Newman!!!

The lines are all from this movie. And two more iconic lines are "you complete me" and "help me, help you."

This movie is probably my favorite rom-com of all time. My wife and I own the DVD and, according to the behind the scenes interviews, during the famous "you had me at hello" scene, the camermen were crying, the lightning guys were crying, and the director Cameron Crowe said "I think we have something special here." its a really special film!!!

Looks like I won't be the only one recommending it, but I think the most important movie to follow up with is Vanilla Sky. I think it's very interesting how, if you boil them down, the two movies have essentially the same story, but they are much different interpretations of the scenario in pretty much every way. Beyond that, I will second Say Anything... and Almost Famous as the two most important Cameron Crowe movies to check out (although I also love Singles). You have technically seen Crowe on the channel before, as he was the writer of Amy Heckerling's Fast Times at Ridgemont High, both the original book (for which Crowe went undercover at a California high school) and the screenplay for the movie. As far as Tom Cruise goes, I hope you check out Paul Thomas Anderson's magnolia, Stanley Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut (Kubrick's final film), Jack Reacher (just the first one -- the second is terrible), Edge of Tomorrow, War of the Worlds, and the Mission: Impossible movies (which IMO is one of the more surprising omissions from the channel, unless you've just already seen all of them).

One of my favorite movies! The soundtrack is great as well. I had it on CD and played it constantly. Secret Garden from Bruce Springsteen plays perfectly in the date scene. And Glen Frey from the Eagles (the band) played the Arizona coach. I second Almost Famous, another great Cameron Crowe Film.

A couple other key Cameron Crowe films you need to see are 'Say Anything' (1989) and 'Almost Famous' (2000), the latter being somewhat autobiographical. I hated 'Vanilla Sky,' which I'm sure you'll also get recommended, but I'm not here to yuck anyone's yum.

One of my faves of all time. Director Cameron Crowe and Tom Cruise are great together, they team up again in Vanilla Sky (2001) Got my 🍿 ready for this review!

Great movie, but I am bias since I am a huuuuuge Tom Cruise fan. I have loved him ever since my brother took me to see Risky Business in the theater when I was 14. And Risky Business is a must must MUST see Tom Cruise movie.

When Billy Crystal hosted the Oscars in 1997, they edited him into scenes of the movies that were nominated that year. Jerry Maguire was one of them. Also Fargo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TXy7qwrcebw
