2024-08-27 20:09:56 +0000 UTCIf you grew up going to a posh school in the UK (as I am ashamed to say I did, essentially squandering a huge amount of my parent's money on an education I wasn't interested in and scraping by doing the bare minimum, I hated the ****ing place) "If . . ." is revelatory. It sums so much up about those institutions. It's weird, and dark, and funny, and traumatic, and off putting, and seductive, and ultimately deeply deeply shocking). Mick Travis is Cinema's most overlooked icon.

The suggestions in those monthly posts are almost always remarkably varied and filled with great deep cuts.
