Cobra Kai Season 6 Episode 5 'Best of the Best' Full TV Reaction!!

"If Karate used defend honor, defend life, karate mean something." - Mr. Miyagi.

Scott Kerr

I'm not gonna say anything about Daniel or Johnny but Tory is definitely not in the wrong for wanting to do what she feels she has to do to fulfill a promise and honor her mom who literally just died. I've been where Tory is where you need to do something and no one else understands and you tell them you're fine and THEY DON'T LISTEN and they just won't STFU and let you do what you need to do coz they're on their high horse and they won't stop trying to control you because they think they know better. Whew. That was pretty intense. But yeah, trust me I know. They all screwed Tory over by not letting her do what she had to do. It was typical "i know better than you what's right" and it was absolute bs.

It's more like in that world if you decide to run away and quit the other characters are gonna do what the writers write them to do. I honestly feel like the hiatus really harmed the writing of the show. Coz they were on it for 5 seasons. Film, write, film, write, film write.. Then season 6 comes along.. Oh we need to write for all these shows and we need to put Cobra Kai on hold.. It's no coincidence that the plot in this season has a lot of people going wtf.

Only the captains will fight in the finals

Im a thousand percent with Daniel on this one! Yes Daniels goodie goodie karate can gets annoying but in this case absolutely the fight should NOT have continued, Johnny is in the wrong and tory is in the wrong they simply don't see it yet (I hope eventually they both see the light smh) because it has been a struggle to get them to see it lol good grief! Tory could have seriously hurt sam and then what?! Smh simply regret? Nah cut that regret off before it happens period! Yes I wanted Robby to go after tory but if he did we wouldn't have the rest of the season lol

This is what I’ve been thinking too - that there was some kind of time jump after the day of the fight and maybe the second part will go back to full in some gaps. At least I hope because otherwise this is a letdown. I think they set a pretty high bar for themselves with their storytelling up until now so I hope they’re not getting too sloppy as they approach the finish line.

Daniel…Sam what you guys fail to understand is that in this universe if you $&!! your pants or loose a loved one THAT’S YOUR PROBLEM! If you decide to walk away and quit don’t expect me to come running after you like some kind of adult or something. 😏

I think Daniel is getting a raw deal from you guys. Johhny gets away with so much that you just glazed over because for the most part it's done for comic relief. I do love the show but sometimes it gets repetitive.

I have a feeling that the next block of episodes (or at least just the first one) will jump back to before they arrive in Barcelona and we'll see exactly what happens to get them there. It seems nuts to me that we're just there without resolving a whole list of things, including the Devon/Kenny situation and exactly how Tory ends up with Kreese again.

I think Johnny was right, they should have let the fight continue, and even Tory told them she needed to fight for her mom. Sam's a big girl, Sam would've been fine, and I don't say that in an antagonistic way-- The fight between Miguel and Robbie was very tense and also pretty hardcore and they were fine; I think Sam and Tory would have been fine if they had not stopped the fight. One thing that I noticed in one of the previous episodes, when Kim Da-Eun congratulates Kreese for getting Kwon in line, Kreese says "There's still one more piece of the puzzle" and then it transitioned to Tory. I was like OHH foreshadowing .. I also loved the callbacks.. Almost every piece of dialogue in this series is a callback to one thing or another. When Daniel goes after Johnny for counting the point after Tory's illegal move, and then Johnny says "Hey that's a warning, next one's a deduction." And at the end Kwon is holding his belt the way Kreese does. I think all of their faces at the end was some of the best acting on the show. Every face is near unrecognizable with the expression they have on their face. Peyton List also did some really amazing acting in this episode.

I don't comment much on Cobra Kai, but I've been watching the series up until now. I just wanted to clarify that, earlier in the series, I was asking myself a question anxiously: "What's going to happen next?" I would always ask that question when a series is really exciting and I'm eager to know what's going to happen as the series goes forward. However, after these new five episodes, I'm not asking that question anymore. Now, I'm asking the question: "Where the hell are they going with this?" I guess my anxiousness is kind of gone at the moment. Hopefully it'll come back.

I was in the same boat about how they just seemed to brush off Tory's mom's death and her leaving the dojo. I'm hoping they can try to retcon that with some explanation at the Sekai Taikai, like there is a time jump between the captain fights and the tournament where they all did go to her mom's funeral (if there even is one). Other than that, very strong episode. I loved that Robby finally got a win over Miguel. Kwon is gonna be a problem in that tournament, though. I'm kinda scared. lol he's like Chozen 2.0 from the second Karate Kid movie.
