Oona O'Brien (Devon) is really skilled at martial arts in real life, and Brandon H. Lee (Kwon) is also highly skilled in Tae Kwon Do. I don't think he has a black belt coz someone said the only person in Cobra Kai with a black belt is the guy that plays Terry Silver. Also the guy that plays Hawk has become quite skilled in real life as well. He's only been training for the show, but he's gotten pretty good. But yeah classic Johnny all the way. And honestly the whole thing with Devon was really out of character for her to be 1. doubting herself and 2. to cheat ... If you remember when she started she barely had any experience and when she lost she said "Pf. Of course I lost. I'm new. Next year I'm gonna wipe the mat with them" or something. She was VERY confident. There's some things that I'm not crazy about in this season but yeah these last 2 episodes are way better than the first two. It's good watching them again because the first time I watched it I kinda felt the whole thing was definitely no where near as strong as the last seasons, but watching again I notice it's really only episodes 1 and 2. 3 and 4 are way more jam packed and get a lot more like what we're used to with this series.

2024-07-30 03:13:30 +0000 UTCI like them exploring Miyagi’s backstory. Him potentially having made some bad mistakes doesn’t bother me. The movies all had nuggets of info that open the door and give room for the writers to work with. Plus the 3 main show runners love the movies, love this show , and love all the characters. These aren’t the guys to destroy Miyagi. If it was Disney, Lucasfilm, Marvel I’d bet on it. Whatever Miyagi did or didn’t do was when he was young and led to him being the beloved older man we all know from the movies. Personally I think this is also at least one way for them to work Julie Pierce in to the story and probably add some more character growth in to Daniel and Johnny and even Chozen since they are the ones teaching Miyagi-Do Karate.
