I was just recommended this video showing the best DOS games of 1997, and low and behold one of the games on there was the original Fallout. I never played it, but he explains how in the game the water chip breaks in your vault, and so they send you out into the Wasteland to find a replacement. It would seem the story of the show is based on the first game at least a little bit. Lucy doesn't go out because of the water chip as we don't find out until episode 3 after she already left. But seems interesting that the general ideas are the same: A vault dweller leaves the vault to get something, and they do actually find out their water chip is broken. But in the game there is 150 days of water left, not two months.

2024-06-19 05:45:12 +0000 UTCI didn't even know that you could remove them. I can't stand ads, and I looked for purchase options but didn't see it. I usually have to buy the shows I watch on Amazon Prime, so I'm used to paying for them. I tried watching some with ads but it's ridiculous like every 20 minutes massive amount of ads. The Fallout ones aren't bad. Is it $3 per episode or $3 for the whole season to take out ads? You can ask Sam about my mad sync skills. I sent her a clip on Instagram once. When they do the HBO Max thing and I watch on Prime so mine doesn't have the HBO intro animation thing..

2024-06-19 05:41:33 +0000 UTCIt's annoying about the ads but I watch so many TV shows on Prime, I just paid the extra 3 bucks or whatever to remove them. I do not have the patience or skills as you do to pause, wait and resync. I'm always tweaking in the first minute, trying to get as close to dead on with their reaction as I can.

2024-06-19 04:06:30 +0000 UTCPretty smart thinking. Yeah you can see the show's creators were probably gonna release the show weekly at the very beginning, or even 3 or 4 episodes, have a break then release the rest., but then thought, stuff it, let's release everything everywhere all at once!

For me what I have been doing is as soon as the ad comes on I pause the reaction, and try to remember how long it took for me to pause it, then I resync. Pretty simple. Although this time there was this ad where someone was slowly opening this vertical door and there was this build up music and I thought it was part of the show LOL so it was like soo long before I paused it, when the show came back I sung the song in my head to try to get the timing right.
