At the birthday party they called Goggins' character a "pinko," slang for a communist.

I'm a big Fallout 4 fan so I am interested in this one and to see how well they adapted it. Might wait for you to be done first though!

Domino

You guys were suspicious of Vault 32 at first, but as soon as dude wiped his dick off on the curtain it was a dead giveaway.:)))

Daniel "what do you know about this ? " Sam " nothing " 😂 brilliant I laughed out loud with that lol what a start . I've never played the game so my knowledge of fallout is limited but that didn't take anything away from the enjoyment of this show 👍 glad you both enjoyed it I think the series is great and I look forward to watching the entire series again with you both 🔥

Yeah the developers called it "retro futuristic". Basically the 1950's idea of what the future would be. So, Robot butlers, fusion powered cars, portable computers on your arm, marines wearing power armor. But no tablets or smart phones, and the television is still black and white, goofy 1950's stuff is still popular (cowboy movie stars etc.). It's a very cool aesthetic and world to build a story in. The scene at the beginning with The Ghoul and his daughter was technically set in the future, in terms of the year it happened, but it's an alternate retro-futuristic future, so it has a lot of 1950's ethics and politics.

So glad you're reacting to this, such a good series. Especially if you're a Bethesda fan.

This is honestly my 5-6 watch through of this series with different people and I'm still not sick of it! I think it's masterfully done! Last of us was amazing but it was mostly a retelling of a great story where as this is brand new but keeps the vibe of the universe! I hope season 2 does not take that long to come out!

Walton (not Walter) Goggins IS Boyd Crowder!

I know I never joined them.. I don't think you can join them in Fallout 76. I dunno. but they're annoying.. This one time I made a camp and it happened to be near a Brotherhood of Steel encampment and I always had soldiers trying to kill me lol.

Alex

I personally never had problems with it on PC, but I definitely agree that it's the best of all the Fallout games after the original series.

Brandon

I'm going to be watching the series along with these reactions so I have no idea where the story goes yet. All I have to say about the Brotherhood is that I never sided with them anytime the games give you a choice between between rival factions. Ever. I'd always help the Ghouls whenever I could and have very fond memories of giving them access to a certain place in Fallout 3 - and the hilarious chaos that ensues.

This series inspired me to play Fallout 4 and everything is absolutely identical. The commercials for Sugar Bombs and Grognak the Barbarian, Lucy's description of her S.P.E.C.I.A.L traits, The Brotherhood and the Enclave, the power armor and the Vault depiction are right out of the game.

Any Fallout game can be a pain to get running well on a PC lol

The inter-vault trade is completely new to this series, but it makes sense and helps to clear up some logistical questions. The nuclear war happened in 2077 in a world where technology advanced for the most part, but much of the aesthetic is still 1950s and 60s.

So after I watched this episode for the first time, I was like OK. I need to find out WHY it's futuristic but then also retro, I searched "retro futuristic" and I've played Fallout 4 and Fallout 76. Now I haven't beaten either one but I don't think the explanation is a spoiler? It's basically like Daniel said, but more specifically the invention of the microchip never happened so they just got more tech that was futuristic but retro. It's something called "atom punk" (like Steampunk, but referring to the use of nuclear power).. Very similar actually to Bioshock if you guys have ever played the games. I think they made a movie of it? I dunno. But yeah this is one of the best adaptations of a videogame I've ever seen. I love Fallout 76. Haven't played in a while.. Oh about the vaults.. There are no vaults (in the games) which are interconnected. The vault 31, 32, 33 interconnected-ness and the trades etc. are brand new for the show. That thing that Lucy used to heal herself is called a Stimpak. It's like Daniel said what you use to heal in the game.. That is what I love about this.. Usually they always feel the need to change things or do other things but here it's literally like the game. You just inject yourself with a stimpak. Some other notes from the games that weren't mentioned.. That one raider where the guy says "Don't make me use force" and then the raider inhales this thing and he's like "Oh shit..." or something. That's actually an item you can get in the game. It's some kind of PCP-like drug that makes you super strong. For Sam, the vaults were created by a company called Vault-tec as a precaution for impending nuclear fallout and so there were vaults made all over. It was mostly the rich who could afford them and reserved spaces in them. I would say it's more of an action Role-Playing Game / First/Third Person Shooter.. All in all Fallout 76 is what Bungie promised Destiny 2 would be but fell incredibly short IMO. I absolutely love Fallout 76.

Alex

yeah, it's definitely the atomic age using nuclear energy. And that weapon that shot a baby doll leg into that guy was called a junk-jet and it basically fires junk you load into a

New Vegas is by far the best Fallout, but it's a bit of a pain to get running well on a PC.

I highly recommend trying out the phone app fallout shelter. It's a fun little game for iOS and android
