The Fall of the House of Usher Episode 8 'The Raven' Full TV Reaction!!

The Fall of the House of Usher Episode 8 'The Raven' Full TV Reaction!!

"The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym of Nantucket" was Edgar Allen Poe's only full novel I think. The back story for Arthur Pym in this is what the book seems to be about.

Starman Deluxe

Too bad they couldn't do a spin-off series: Better Call Pym.

Have you guys heard or watch del toros cabinet of curiosities? its an anthology show with a new d director every eps.

I highly recommend Flanagan's early film Ouija: Origin of Evil. It's technically a prequel to Ouija, but that movie was garbage, nothing to do with him and Origin of Evil can be appreciated as a standalone movie.

The only big reason I watched Midnight Mass was to watch along with this channel. I thought it was great! I really love Poe and I think I might do it again with this. Well Schmitts, is this better than Midnight Mass, about the same, or worse? Either way, I look forward to watching it for the first time along with you guys.

I think all of Mike Flanagan's early films are worth watching. Hush would probably be the best choice for a reaction but it doesn't appear you can see it anywhere right now. I think the best of his early films is Gerald's Game where Flanagan took a Stephen King novel that everyone thought was unfilmable and turned it into a mini horror classic. Carla Gugino gives an amazing performance in the lead and several other Flanagan regulars make appearances.

Great reaction guys, this was great journey with you guys!!

Worth the wait! I can't believe I was actually able to keep myself from watching ahead after the way that first episode kicked things off. What happened to Lenore was heartbreaking. I was honestly thinking it would only be Roderick's children that got it. As in, the generation after Roderick, not the one after that as well. But when I went back to watch the scene again, Verna does make it a point to say "at the end of it all, your bloodline dies with you." The way she's spared an awful death and gets so many assurances that her Mom would be OK after all of this just further goes to show what awful people the rest of the Ushers were. Even Juno gets a happy ending! πŸ₯°

Awhile ago I mentioned in a comment my favorite scene was still to come... well, it was the "poverty of you" speech from Annabel. I also really love the scene between Verna and Lenore, very moving.

It's not so crazy to believe that two people who spent their life scraping by, at the mercy of the rich, would make that deal on behalf of their children. Yes, greed was the motivation, but Verna knew exactly the argument to make for Roderick's kids. Also we need to talk about how it's Verna's fault we have to deal with Trump.

Yay! So glad you enjoyed it! This is one I definitely want to re-visit as well! -Sam

I have to admit that I've enjoyed this series more the second time around. I was probably a little worn out from Seven Deadly Sins allegories when this premiered (Glass Onion, Shazam!, The Menu...)
