I think El Mariachi is valuable just as an example of really low-budget filmmaking that led to bigger things. Seeing El Mariachi and then the evolution of Rodriguez's technique with Desperado would be fun. I don't remember Once Upon a Time in Mexico that well, and if it were cut I wouldn't have strong feelings, but it also feels like they might as well. Surely it's as good as Live Free or Die Hard.

One of his lesser appreciated films nowadays. Pretty good even if a bit strange in a place or two

Desperado has been included in polls before with the caveat that Daniel has already seen it. I don't know how much value there is in watching the films on either side of it (I know some people swear by El Mariachi, but it's only okay imo and no one ever talks about Once Upon A Time In Mexico for good reason lol).

Hopefully the whole El Mariachi trilogy is on the horizon if they're watching From Dusk Till Dawn. I don't think they've done Sin City either, and they can also throw in Planet Terror and Machete. (Can't say I care much for Machete Kills, though, and I never saw the second Sin City.)

It's coming up because it was the winner's pick on the last Schmitt Spin Raffle.

Thinking a little more about that, it makes sense that she's worked with Sofia Coppola a few times. Coppola has definitely been influenced by Altman.

It’s the strange and wonderful of Robert Altman. I hope we’ll eventually see a reaction to The Player (1992), which is a classic of sorts.

Letterboxd posted one of their "Top Four" videos today and 3 Women was in Kirsten Dunst's top four. Thought that was timely!

I had no idea Three Women would be coming up. It's been a long time, but I remember the weird vibe of it reminding me of David Lynch.

Three Women is a great film. I love that your monthly drawings can expose you to classic films and directors that don't normally get a lot of attention from reaction channels.

"Three Women" this may be the only showing I can recall for this movie !! What category did this win the vote on ? Director Robert Altman besides the movie MASH does not get wins in many polls.

I cannot believe I'm about to see a reaction for "3 Women". Whether you like it or don't like it, I just can't imagine what a reaction to that movie looks like! Very excited for that one!

A great addition to a future horror poll would be Videodrome (1983), one of Cronenberg's best (same director as The Fly)

Mine came from Desperado, but it was a few years ago on Graham Norton's show where I realized she shares a lot of characteristics and mannerisms with Lucille Ball that I actually fell in love, lol.
