Honestly, between the acid shower and the chimp beatdown I can't decide which one is a worse way to die. 😫 Midnight Club update: This show was great, although it might be the saddest of all Flanagan's shows since it's about a group of teenagers with terminal illnesses. The story-within-a-story concept works really well and it lets the actors all play multiple roles. You can tell they had a lot of fun with it. You can also tell that Flanagan found a whole new group of actors he liked working with, since several actors (Toby, Tina/Beth, Perry and Juno) all ended up with roles in Usher. It's only big flaw is that it paves the way for a second season and Netflix cancelled it. The good news is that Mike Flanagan made this huge Tumblr post revealing everything that would have happened in season 2. Definitely worth checking out despite the cancellation.

They probably taped this reaction before you joined.

I really hope Carla gets remembered come Emmy time.

Wonder why I don't show up on the Patreon list?

Camille constantly admonishing her male assistant with the phrase "Dammit, Toby!" or "Toby, Dammit!" is a reference to an actual Poe character named Toby Dammit from his short story, Never Bet the Devil Your Head. It was very memorably adapted by Federico Fellini into one of the three stories in the Poe anthology film, Spirits of the Dead.

Carla Gugino plays "Verna" on the show. It says in the subtitles, but I'm not sure when she introduces herself as Verna. She is a superb actress. This was the episode where things really took off for me, I liked the first 2 a lot, but from here on out I thought it was insanely good. That chimpanzee scene freaked me out for days!
