The Raid: Redemption (2011) First Time Watching! Full Movie Reaction!!

So glad you guys enjoyed The Raid! It's certainly one of my favorite action films...just ever. And the Raid 2 is absolutely worth it! It's quite a bit longer, a bit slower paced, but the last 60 minutes of that film is completely bananas it's so jaw-droppingly awesome. HIGHLY recommended!

Everything he said. Plus 3 more words: Kitchen. Fight. Scene. 😁

Been a fan of your youtube channel for a while, The Raid was the push I needed to come to patreon, one of my favourite action films of all time.

Iko Uwais has some amazing martial arts films..I would recommend “The Night Comes For Us” it’s much more brutal then this

You definitely need to check out part 2. Dont put it in a poll, just do a reaction to it. The fights are crazier, the story is better and the action sequences are insane and its the same actor obviously. IMDB has the sequel better then the first as well!!!! You guys will love it more then the original!!

It was just coincidence that The Raid and Dredd came out within a year of each other despite being so similar in it's set up and plot points. Cops stuck in a building full of bad guys where the bad guys are making drugs in said building, and corrupt cops being a major plot point although done very differently. They each have their own distinct type of action which makes them both great in different ways. Easily two of the greatest action films in the last 15 years.

Great Reaction, looking forward to The Raid 2

First of all... I just want to again say thank you again for finally reacting to this and giving it a chance. Mad Dog is definitely a contradiction, because he's one of the most memorable and unknown martial art movie villains. The fact that he took out the movie's BEST fighter in Jaka made me truly terrified for Rama and Andi when I first saw this movie. The one thing I love about this movie is how relentless each bad guy (even the smaller ones) were. They just wouldn't stay down. Believe it or not, the actor who played Mad Dog (and Iko Uwais, who played Rama) were actually the fight choreographers for this movie. Another fact, Mike Shinoda (the rapper from the band Linkin Park) made the score for this movie! And now... you have to react to "The Raid 2". The director wanted to actually make the sequel first, but he didn't have the budget at the time. So he made this version, and once it became successful, he got started on the sequel (the true version of this movie). Bigger scale, bigger story, and most importantly, bigger fight scenes. As much as I want to talk about it, I CAN'T because saying anything could be a spoiler. Haha. But I guarantee you... you haven't seen anything yet. It's one of the rare sequels that I feel surpass the first movie.

The Raid 2 is amazing and just as highly recommended as the first film. I don't want to say too much about it other than it tells a much more expansive story and contains some action scenes so incredible that it's difficult to even figure out how they pulled them off. The 1980s Hong Kong films of Jackie Chan and Sammo Hung were a big influence on director Gareth Evans. Although those films have a more comedic tone, they contain some of the hardest hitting fight scenes ever captured on film as well as lots of mind-boggling stuntwork. In terms of other Indonesian films similar to The Raid 1 and 2, I highly recommend Merantau, the first collaboration between director Evans and Iko Uwais (Rama), and The Night Comes For Us with Joe Taslim (Jaka) in the lead and Uwais as a bad guy. This latter film is even more brutally violent than The Raid if you can believe it.

Ooo and it just dropped on 4K blu-ray. Perfect.
