Wow, looks like Dog Day will finally win a poll after years of losing poll after poll here. I'm shocked.

Birdie Num Num

TRAINSPOTTING

Ashley

One Life (2023)

christopher brown

😭

Paul Cox

Not a clear winner anymore. ☹️

Catherine LW

I'm good with just about anything with Jennifer Connolly. Come to think of it, The Hot Spot and Rocketeer need to make thier way to the polls

Smooticus

House of Sand and Fog

metadata

Come on, Right Stuff!

David Wilkins

The Long Good Friday (1980)

christopher brown

But so good! 🥹

Domino

I was going to say maybe finally we'll get Dog Day Afternoon, but then I see The Road is there too, oh my god. Yes, please! It's not going to win but... THE ROAD! 😭😭😭😭

Domino

I think my favorite Richard Gere movie is Internal Affairs. He's a surprisingly good villain. Officer and a Gentleman is a vlose 2nd

Smooticus

Second !!! My favorite Richard Gere

Florian Meier

Drama considations Dr Zhivago Ran Kagemusha: the Shadow Warrior Miller's Crossing Barton Fink Kingdom of Heaven (director's cut) The Drop

Smooticus

Ah, yes, “Trainspotting”. The English-languish film that forced me to figure out how to turn on subtitles on my old 13 inch TV/VCR combo.

Jeff B.

My God! the Road is so depressing!!!!

Chris Bruneau

I made a noble push here to get them to react to The Right Stuff the same week Apollo 13 was scheduled (however long ago that was), but alas that didn't happen. I'm hoping they'll get to it sooner or later.

Paul Cox

It’s not that they hooked up, but that it was too lengthy. I can guess what is going to happen 🤓

Catherine LW

It really, really is.

VivendoBem

"The Right Stuff" is the correct response.

The One True Chris

I glanced at the poll and saw The Road listed and immediately went for it. Dark, but very good.

Forrest

I saw Trainspotting in the 90s, and then revisited it during lockdown. I was pretty aloof when I was in my early twenties and wasn't prepared for how soul-crushingly GRIM I found it as a forty-something. Probably won't ever watch it a third time.

Paul Cox

Sidney Lumet (12 Angry Men) and his brilliant directing, Pacino and Cazele’s great acting, Charles Durning’s terrific supporting performance, all based on a true story. Can’t make up the craziness of this story!

Catherine LW

I couldn’t understand most of Trainspotting, lol. Those accents were hard to decipher. I like 28 Days Later and Millions.

Catherine LW

I'm hoping that too!

Domino

Seconding Secretary

mikethemotormouth

trainspotting one of the best british films ever not predictable at all

g

Wyoming. 😆

Catherine LW

Good news!

Catherine LW

OmGosh, can this be it? Dog Day Afternoon finally winning??? 🤞🏻

Catherine LW

I believe in honor of Lou Gossett Jr's passing, they should watch An Officer and a Gentleman

Smooticus

There are few films i hate as much as Trainspotting. A better Danny Boyle film is Sunshine (2007)

Odd Thomas

First Man (2018) a great movie about Neil Armstrong

christopher brown

For a future drama poll later in the year, the legendary and long-unavailable theatrical cut of Amadeus is finally coming back out this year. The bloated, wandering "director's cut" (that Milos Forman really had nothing to do with) is the only version that's been available for 25 years, so to have the perfect version of the film—the version that millions of people saw and the version that won Best Picture—finally available again means it's good that you've put off reacting to it. Just put it off a little longer.

Paul Cox

Can't go wrong with classic Al Pacino. Dog Day Afternoon is a great film. And John Cazale (Fredo from The Godfather) co-stars in a spectacular role.

Mike Tocci

For future drama polls: Missing (1982) Secretary (2002) The Sweet Smell of Success (1957)

M

Cmon trainspotting. Sam says shes Scottish lol🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿💚

ElmSt Reactions

For future drama options, Pump up the Volume (1990). My favourite high school movie, my favourite coming of age movie, my favourite Christian Slater movie.

Future Boy

can you just watch Trainspotting already :)

Nick Sneddon

"Midnight Cowboy" (1969) also, that is the very definition of a "drama", great movie, that's another one for future drama polls But THIS poll is a great one! No need to change this one! Just in the future: Sophie's Choice and Midnight Cowboy are both textbook "dramas" that are great additions to a classic "Drama" poll.

Toc

Love this poll! Two things for future reference: The Graduate is more of a comedy. Comedy-drama. It's hard to define, it's not one or the other, but it's more of a comedy. Not that I care, I still voted for it! And secondly: for next drama poll, "Sophie's Choice" (1982) Meryl Streep's most incredible performance, Kevin Kline's most incredible performance. That is the very definition of a "drama" and you'll be blown away. That movie should have 20,000 reactions for it.

Toc

YYYYYESSSSS! At last!!!! It looks like it's a clear winner at this juncture. There are some great ones on that list too. "The Conversation". "The Right Stuff". "The Graduate".

Toc

For the next Drama Poll please add "Kramer vs Kramer" from 1979 with Dustin Hoffman and Meryl Streep to your list

Florian Meier

Monte cristo!!

MateoP

Oh yeah, Serpico

Mr. Chumpus

I won't disagree. Then again 2 people who look like Robert Redford and Faye Dunaway in the mid 1970's not hooking up is a bit unrealistic also ;p

Smooticus

Will this finally be Dog Day's time to shine? Early returns are pleasing, but there's a long way to go!

Paul Cox

Minor gripe about Condor: I'm absolutely no prude, but that movie has the most unnecessary sex scene ever crammed into a screenplay.

Paul Cox

I would love to see you react to Cinderella Man with Russell Crowe.

Athos Count de la Fère

Gilbert Grape (1993) till today one of the best acting from DiCaprio

Josip Buretić

Speaking of the Conversation, I highly recommend Three Days of the Condor with Robert Redford

Smooticus

Every movie on this list is terrific, but I didn't put in a vote for Dog Day because I figure it's going to run away with the voting anyway, and I've seen it too recently. Had to give the Right Stuff a vote because it's awesome and Paris, Texas is one of my favorites. Also gave a vote to the Conversation

Smooticus

I kinda don't care for any of these movies except for Lost In Translation

Nick Parker

Seeing Dog Day Afternoon on these polls always makes me depressed because I know it'll get votes but only enough votes to come in 2nd or 3rd place...again. Haha. As an Al Pacino fan, it's insane how underrated this film is. It's not like Pacino films haven't won polls before.

Brandon B.

Legends of the Fall (1994)

Jonathan Patrick

Dog Day Afternoon is in my opinion the best Al Pacino performance. Serpico and Godfather 2 are second and third.

Sylvan Green

A lot of good choices, but Dog Day Afternoon is high culture.

Brian's Dog

For a future poll "The Drop" (2014). James Gandolfini's last film. Cast includes Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace and Matthias Schoenaerts

Scott

October Sky is a classic, that’s one you can watch over and over and not get tired of it lol

Gilbert Gonzalez

The Counte of Monte Cristo!!! Best movie on this list

James

Gotta be Dog Day Afternoon. Am I right?

Mr. Chumpus

Dog Day afternoon and Lost In Translation!
