Role Models (2008) First Time Watching! Full Movie Reaction!!

Love this one, and yeah, I would love to LAIRE 😂 BTW, that movie with Edward James Olmos being stabbed and dropped is American ME, I'm reluctant to recommend that one because, it is an interesting story, loosely based on the true story, but it's kinda gross, prison stuff, not fun, which is why it was perfect for that joke 🤣

Joe D. MacGuffinstuff

Some of my favorite comedies if you haven't seen them: Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, 21 Jump Street

An Inanimate Fucking Object

Oh wow. I saw There's Something About Mary with my mom, in the theater even, so I know the pain, Alex.

Paul Cox

Great reaction! The movie Paul Rudd is watching where they throw the guy over the railing, is American Me (1992) with Edward James Olmos. It's a really good movie... I would highly recommend it for a future poll. Also, Jane Lunch and Ken Marino are in a show called Party Down that I also highly recommend. It's got a great cast with so many great guest stars as well. Anyway... again, thanks for another great reaction.

hahahaha oh no! Some movies are definitely not meant to be watched with your parents -Sam

Then I guess I will have to tell you this story here, instead of waiting for a reaction :) I love Superbad like I think it's a hilarious movie.. and I made the mistake of telling my mom about it and how funny it was, and watching it with my mom. I cannot for the life of me figure out what made me think this would be a good idea, but it was the most awkward time I have ever had in my life. When he's drawing penises everywhere and doing whatever he's doing my mom was asking "Why's he doing that?" and I was just like "I dunno .. I ...... he's just crazy I guess."

Alex

Haha yes, I have seen Superbad! -Sam

I haven't seen this one! I'm going to have to ask Daniel! -Sam

All the references to KISS in this movie made me think of another great comedy that’s full of KISS-related content called “Detroit Rock City” from 1999. Goofy, raunchy, over-the-top teenage road adventure.

Nick of Time

Scott and Yunfat from crouching tiger are in the early00s comedy Bulletproof Monk

Vlasios Vougiouklis

I recommend "Jumpin Jack Flash" from 1986 with Whoopi Goldberg, "Beverly Hills Cop" from 1984 with Eddie Murphy, "Overboard" from 1987 with Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn and "Turner & Hooch" from 1989 with Tom Hanks ... These some of my favorite Comedy Films that you really have to watch

Wet Hot American Summer has the greatest commentary track of all time, literally just David Wain and Michael Showalter making fart noises for the characters throughout the whole movie.

If you can find the Blu-ray, I highly recommend watching the deleted scenes. Director David Wain, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks, Joe Lo Truglio, Ken Marino (who plays Augie's dad), and A.D. Miles (who plays the annoying long-time Big at Sturdy Wings) have known each other for years, before Rudd and Banks were big stars. They made a great cult comedy together in 2001 called Wet Hot American Summer, which features all of them plus a ton of big names (Janeane Garofalo, David Hyde Pierce, Amy Poehler, Molly Shannon, Christopher Meloni from "Law and Order: SVU", and a pre-fame Bradley Cooper). That movie has a lot of ridiculous non-sequitur humor, and in the deleted scenes you can see a movie with some of that "weird" comedy, before they toned it down for the finished film (the changes to Ronnie's mom in particular are quite extreme). There's also a supporting role for Rashida Jones right before she became famous on "Parks and Recreation" that is completely cut out of the film, where Wheeler goes to work for the Chipmunk restaurant. So, definitely watch those if you like the film, they're really interesting in terms of how much a movie can change, and definitely put Wet Hot American Summer on your radar, it's really funny. Wain, Rudd, and the rest of the gang also worked together on the movies The Ten, Wanderlust, and They Came Together, which are also very good, and they did two Netflix television shows that were, respectively, prequel and sequel to Wet Hot American Summer called "Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp" and "Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later."

Tyler Foster

Everybody knows who McLovin is unless they’ve been living under a rock.

Alex

In the outro she says she knows Christopher Mintz-Plasse as McLovin, so she must have.

Tyler Foster

I love this movie. For some reason I got it confused with Superbad. Have you guys seen Superbad I saw that Daniel mentioned it but I dunno if you've seen it Sam.

Alex

I would argue The Rundown

Goon is so fantastic!

Jen Barnes

Sorry guys, but Seann William Scott's best underrated film is Goon. These are just facts.
