I watched this in preparation for the reaction. I liked it a lot, but it needs to be watched multiple times. I hope you guys enjoy it.

Well maybe that's true, maybe it isn't but......their Mullholland Drive reaction was incredible! If they're reaction to this is even half as good as the Mullholland Drive reaction, it'll be fine! "3 Women" is trippy and weird, and I certainly see the vague similarities......but they're two completely different movies and expreiences, and one is WAY more rooted in reality than the other. The Altman movie that's most like Lynch is "Images", that's the one that's like Lost Highway or Mullholland Drive (or Bergman's Persona, or Bunuel's That Obscure Object Of Desire, etc)

Yes! You have gotten an accurate impression of the film, 100% Frankly, I wouldn't even know how to describe that movie! And I mean that as a compliment! It used to be difficult to find, and I heard about it for years before I saw it. It's my favorite Robert Altman movie, although there are some close contenders for 2nd place (The Player, M*A*S*H*, Short Cuts). And one of the great movies of 1977. Shelley was in two of 'em: Annie Hall and this one!

I agree!

Although I do agree that those three movies are definitely great first Altmans, I think this one is still a great ambassador for his work. i think the deep end would be more like "Secret Honor", right? Even "Nashville", to me, would be the deep end. Or "Buffalo Bill And The Indians" (although, maybe not: that was MY first Altman, at about 8 years old and I loved it! lol) I think having Shelley Duvall and Sissy Spacek as the stars is a big plus for this movie, especially since they just watched Carrie, and then another movie Spacek was in. And Shelley is so iconic in The Shining, yet no other actor says "Robert Altman" more than Shelley Duvall! Other than maybe Elliot Gould!

I meant "at last I get to see a reaction for this movie"....not "at last, a cool choice!". All of your Schmittwheel winners have been cool choices!

PS: I'm happy for Sam, also! It's not every day on the channel that she gets to watch a movie with a female protaganist, much less two! I'm way overdue for a rewatch of that film so I'm even more psyched.

WOW!!!!!! WOW!!!!! Cool choice!!!!!!! At last! And they've just been watching Sissy Spacek! And Shelley Duvall in her greatest performance. And it's a Robert Altman movie, this will be their first Robert Altman movie! Very cool! Shocked and stunned, as The Rutles would say! Jason: you represented, man!

Just watched the trailer and looks trippy. Makes sense coming from the 70's. I'm totally here for it.

I demand a recount. I know for a fact that there was ballot stuffing going on, and that the software was hacked. I just need a bunch of lawyers....

Yes, and specifically 3 Women also feels like a movie that David Lynch might have watched a lot while making Mulholland Dr, and I'm still not at all sure how much they liked that film

Yeah, ain't mad at it, but for "baby's first Altman" I'd probably go with MASH or Short Cuts or The Player. I'm curious how this reaction might play out.

A legit masterpiece! More Sissy Spacek, and Shelley Duvall right in the middle of one of the insane runs in movie history. Jumping in at at the deep end a little bit with Robert Altman though

Wow, your first Robert Altman film, I think. It has Shelly Duvall and Sissy Spacek. Haven’t seen it myself , but Altman was a terrific director and a lot of his films are my favorites - MASH, The Player, Short Cuts, Cookie’s Fortune, Prêt-A-Porter, The Gingerbread Man. Can’t wait to see the film and the reaction.
