Masters of the Air Part Nine Full TV Reaction!!

I forgot to mention that almost all my male high school teachers were WWII and Korea veterans. Unfortunately I was a dumb high school kid who didn’t appreciate the fact at the time.

I really enjoyed this series. From the outset I tried to get myself away from the mindset of comparing it to Band of Brothers, because how could it ever measure up. It’s a unique story and the Bloody Hundredth documentary someone mentioned actually shows they pretty much told the story as it was in a more dramatized version. Hands down the best aerial battle sequences I’ve ever seen and the finale did a wonderful job of tying it all together. I am so glad you reacted to it and do recommend the broadcast version for some extra details. I hope you do Fargo S3 next!

Enjoyed this series, which is an eye opening depiction of aerial warfare in WWII. Most people at that time have never flown in a plane; commercial air flight didn’t really take off until after the war. If you did fly pre-war, you would be hiring a private pilot and a small plane. You guys really need to see The Best Years of Our Lives, it would give closure to WWII after watching the three series. Beautiful film.

Well, I enjoyed the series. not anywhere near as good as Band of bros, but it cant be , given the subject and how you have to stick to facts. Dan and Sam, I recommend "the bloody 100th"--its a doc that showed up on apple tv last night about the real guys from the show. great footage of aerial combat and really good interviews. Turns out Rosie had an amazing life and he is interviewed extensively.

Stalag 13 was the location for Hogan's Heroes, a '60's sitcom about WW2 POW's that mocked the Nazis and featured actual holocaust survivors in the cast.
