Heist Film Poll!

Help pick the Heist movie we will react to!

Please feel free to suggest other options in the comments for future polls!

*NOTE: I have seen The Italian Job & Three Kings, so this would only be Sam's first time watching!

We received a ton suggestions on the last polls, but we are trying to keep the poll sizes more reasonable. We have noted all suggestions for future polls!

Tower Heist (2011)

christopher brown

Would Jason and the Argonauts (1963) be considered a heist movie?

Smooticus

Another good heist movie is Now You See Me (2013)

pete

I feel like Three Kings would probably be better suited to a different kind of poll. Although there are some very serious elements in it, it is a comedy, and so maybe it would fit better on a comedy poll even though it does technically have heist elements. (Also, as a counter-example, Logan Lucky is a good example of a heist with strong comedy elements that I think absolutely belongs here.)

Tyler Foster

One of my favourite comedies ever is in 2nd place. Looks like I'll be re-watching Ronin for the first time since the early 2000s. It's not bad - I don't remember anything but some good action scenes - and I might end up liking it more this time around.

Brandon

Ronin and A Fish Called Wanda are Brilliant !! But "The Sting" should really be on this List

Florian Meier

If you haven't watched The Sting yet, it should be on this list.

Michael Buhl

it is very underrated. I love the twists in that one.

Nick Parker

Way too many people sleep on Logan Lucky, that movie is great.

Christopher B.

Wyoming.

Catherine LW

Logan Lucky for the Game of Thrones joke alone.

Dan McComb

Three AWESOME choices!

WHAT A CAST! Oh my goodness! -Sam

😂

Now THAT'S funny! True, but funny.

The Italian Job (1969)

christopher brown

all such GREAT suggestions

Charles Mitchell

Personally, I would prefer to see you react to the original (Italian Job, 1969) Starring a young Michael Caine. Also, the original (The Thomas Crown Affair, 1968) starring Steve McQueen & Faye Dunaway. At least before seeing the more modern versions.

Long-time Sci-Fi Enthusiast

The original Italian Job (1969)!!! Needs to be included!

Eric

It doesn't look like Bonnie and Clyde has any real chance to win here, but you guys should add it to the schedule anyway just because of how it was a revolution in Hollywood. It was basically the studios saying "we're all the way done with the Hays Code, see??"

Paul Cox

At this point I'm convinced that if you ran a poll with only Dog Day Afternoon on it, it would still come in 3rd.

Paul Cox

some older heist films to keep in mind for later polls - Rififi, The Asphalt Jungle, The Killing.

Birdie Num Num

It's got no shot but I'ma throw in with Heist here. Its dialogue (the writing) is just on a whole other level. Ranks right up there with Thief in my book for best movies in this genre. Won't be sad to see any on this list win. It's a great list.

Jay Davis

Sneakers (1992) is one of greatest heist films ever made. I'm truly surprised it isn't in this poll. Perhaps next time?

Brandon Royce

Not listed but a fun one is 1979's The Great Train Robbery starring Sean Connery , written and directed by Michael Crichton author of Jurassic Park !

Keith Brown

Ronin! Ronin! Ronin!

Luetin

Had to go with a fish called Wanda for the comedy alone 👍 just noticed Friday 1st marks 3yrs a patreon here and I know I used to comment all the time but havnt watched hardly any of your content this year so far as war isnt my thing and thats mostly whats been on here but thats fine i knew eventually id have something to watch 👍

Ian

Definitely, the car chases are top tier. Makes it even better that they were all filmed practically with the actors actually in the cars lol

Gilbert Gonzalez

Rewatched it myself last month and that car chase is better than I remember

mikethemotormouth

Absolutely Hell or High water!!! its Fantastic!

Hector M.

Ronin is so good, the action is amazing for its time! I just re-watched it a couple days ago. Definitely a favorite!

Gilbert Gonzalez

Dog Day Afternoon for the win!

Catherine LW

Thanks for letting us pick more than one!!! "Dog Day Afternoon" and "Bonnie And Clyde" all the way, it's not even close, those are major films to have under the ole belt. Both are on AFi's Top 100, Sight And Sound, and any other (real) list of greatest ever movies, movies of the 60s/70s, American cinema, etc.....bank robbing, lol... Pop culture staple stuff, etc etc.....

Toc

Absolutely Dog Day and Bonnie And Clyde. You can vote for both! It's not limited to one choice! Those two choices are head and shoulders over the rest, you are completely correct. It's not a knock on the other titles, but it doesn't get more fundamental or influential (or entertaining!) than Bonnie And Clyde or Dog Day Afternoon. They'd be head and shoulders over most movies you could list! And the idea there's no reaction video in existence on any channel to Bonnie And Clyde yet is truly bizarre, it's one of the first titles I searched for when I discovered reaction channels! (By coincidence, I'm actually watching a reaction to The Graduate right now on the other channel I'm subscribed to. So there's hope yet!)

Toc

Man, I was all ready to put Heist in as a write-in vote...which since it's not likely to win it should still be kept as a future option. David Mamet written and directed, Gene Hackman, Danny Devito, Sam Rockwell, Delroy Lindo, and Ricky Jay. This gives nothing away, but lines like this... "Hey, I'm going to be as quiet as an ant pissing on cotton." "I don't want you as quiet as an ant pissing on cotton....I want you as quiet as an ant not even THINKING about pissing on cotton."

JVTrickypants

Going in Style (1979)

Ian Cano

I haven't seen Three Kings yet. I wouldn't mind watching it with you guys. Haha.

EdmanXERO

The original "Thomas Crown Affair (1968)" with Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway is the classic, not the remake. I like Pierce Brosnan, but he is definitely NOT in Steve McQueen's class. Too few Steve McQueen movies show up on reaction sites, yet he was THE "cool guy" of the 1960s.

David Martin

"Dog Day" because of Al Pacino. I was tempted with Bonnie and Clyde. Never seen anyone do a reaction video for that. If those two movies were not on the list, it would have been The Italian Job.

Athos Count de la Fère

Great choices but I’m going with Dog Day Afternoon because of the actor John Cazale!

Mark Ultimatemusings

OH NO! "The Score" (Brando, DiNiro, Norton) is not even on the list?

David Martin

Ronin is the correct response. :)

The One True Chris

For me its between :The Italian Job" and "Ronin"
