Ocean's Eleven (2001) First Time Watching! Full Movie Reaction!!

The thing that threw me for a loop here was seeing Holly Marie Combs in the poker table in the beginning and I checked the X-Ray and it said "Holly Marie Combs as herself" I was like wtf?? lol.. I had no idea if she was gonna be an actual part of the movie or if she was just gonna never be seen again. It's funny how this happens. I'm currently watching Charmed and I should watch this movie with you guys that she has a cameo in.

Alex

We can thank the hayze coede for the 1960 ending. ;)

You have two more chances in Ocean’s Twelve and Thirteen.. I hardly think it is a spoiler that he in fact does return.. And I hope you do get to those at some point.. Trying to figure out how a heist is executed before the final reveal is fun.. And a stacked cast helps too..

We have not! -Sam

We didn’t know that about Erin Brockovich! We have seen Knives Out but would love to check out more! -Sam

Logan Lucky is my favourite Soderberg film; it's another heist movie. Solaris is pretty underrated too.

Have you ever read about the original 1960s Ocean’s Eleven? It looks great according to TVtropes, with the added twist that it still had to observe the Hays Code, most importantly the “Crime Never Pays” clause.

I think Ocean's Twelve (2004) is quite underrated. It was not well-received at the time, but I think it's brilliant and actually best of the three. Ocean's Thirteen (2007) is also fun (and yes, it exists). In addition to these, I'm sure I said it before, but also make sure to check out Steven Soderbergh's Out of Sight (1998), which was the first time he worked with George Clooney. It is an adaptation of an Elmore Leonard book, the writer of the book that Jackie Brown was based on. If you remember that movie, you'll also get a fun little surprise in the movie, because they're both based on books by the same guy. I don't know if you actually knew this when you mentioned Erin Brockovich, but that is also a Soderbergh film, so this was a reuniting for him and Julia Roberts as well as with George Clooney. I also agree with those who mentioned The Limey and The Informant!, and there is also Soderbergh's other heist movie Logan Lucky (2017) as well. Knives Out (2019) isn't on the channel so I kind of imagine you two saw it on your own, but Logan Lucky will give you more Daniel Craig with another ludicrously entertaining Southern accent. Also, you missed one movie in your Ocean's-ography: Ocean's Eleven is a remake, of a movie from 1960 starring Frank Sinatra and the rest of his Rat Pack. They're much different, so the remake aspect is just the basic concept of robbing Vegas casinos. The only thing I remember from the original is the ending, which is incredible. I need to watch it again.

I am genuinely sad we didn’t get a single MAAATT DAAAMOON!

Gunnar Rea

Great movie, great cast. Don't bother with the sequels though.

Odd Thomas

I like the fountain scene. It's actually really nice.

Scott Kerr

This was before The Bourne Identity. Supposedly, when they shot Ocean's 12, the other actors gave Matt Damon a bunch of crap about now being a "big star". (Not onscreen, so not a spoiler.)

David Martin

Sol is played by Carl Reiner, one of the legendary comedy writers from the 50's and 60's. He's the father of Rob Reiner.

David Martin

One of my fav franchises! Soderbergh’s directing style and the way he transitions his shots are incredible. It’s the little things I like about these films. The inside lingo “Boesky,” “Jim Brown,” “Two Jethros,” “Miss Daisy,” etc.

Tristan Durant

Other Steven Soderbergh movies worth checking out are “The Limey” and “The Informant!” (also with Matt Damon) . Haven’t watched your reaction yet but I can’t wait!

Samolina Pilchard

Yes there is a oceans 13, it is a great trilogy worth watching! and I also think you should finish the Jason Borne movie

Terry Lee

love this film, i hope you’ll watch the whole trilogy

Foggy

Nice! This movie is always worth another watch. "We're in Barney...Barney Rubble...trouble!"

Steve Mercier
