Added 2024-10-13 12:00:31 +0000 UTC"Huh? A bunch of useless bastards? Why are you asking? It's clear they aren't doing anything!"
"Oh my God, those bastard thieves! The nobles not only don't help us, but they even steal our money like crazy!"
"Exactly! They're a bunch of annoying jerks!"
Ryan listened carefully to the conversation, trying to understand the situation around them. He looked at the three women in front of him, who also seemed interested in the discussion.
Ryan sat quietly, listening to various complaints and opinions from the people around him. His eyes remained calm, monitoring every word that came out of their mouths. Although the atmosphere in the inn felt tense, Ryan showed no emotion. In his mind, grand plans were being meticulously crafted, even as everyone around him only saw his cold demeanor.
After finishing his meal, Ryan stood up slowly. He looked at Ellina, Charlotte, and Rosseline, who were sitting near him, and with a subtle gesture, he signaled for them to follow. The three women immediately stood up, following Ryan as he ascended the stairs to the second floor of the inn. Each step they took felt heavy, as if every floor they passed brought them closer to a deeper secret.
Upon arriving in Ryan's room, the atmosphere inside felt quieter. The window curtains fluttered gently in the cool night breeze, and the faint morning sunlight filtered in, creating shadows that disturbed their awareness.
Ryan closed the door and turned to face them. His gaze was serious, and although his face remained calm, they could sense that something significant was about to be revealed.
"I have arranged transportation for us," Ryan began, his voice calm yet alert. "However, before we reach our main destination, which is the Capital, there is something else we need to do first. We will be going to Bertord City."
Ellina, Charlotte, and Rosseline exchanged glances. They knew that Ryan was always calculating, and if he was taking them to Bertord, there must be something bigger than just an ordinary trip.
"There," Ryan continued, "we will assist the rebels. They are planning a major attack on the Capital, and we will support their efforts. However, we have another goal that I cannot explain right now. But for now, just remember that."
Charlotte furrowed her brow, her voice soft yet clear among them. "Why are we helping the rebels? Is this part of your plan, Master?"
Ryan looked at Charlotte for a moment before answering, "Their attack is merely a means for us. We are not fully on their side, but this attack will create the chaos we need to achieve our goals."
Rosseline bit her lip, looking uncertain. "And what is our true goal?"
Ryan paused for a moment, letting the question hang in the air. "You will know in due time," Ryan finally replied. "For now, our focus is to move quickly and unseen. Before we leave, return the key to this inn room first."
With those final words, Ryan turned toward the door, leaving an atmosphere filled with doubt and curiosity among the three women.
After handing the room key to the elderly woman who owned the inn, Ryan and the three women stepped outside. The night air felt cold, and the quiet atmosphere of the city began to create a gloomy impression. The elderly woman merely stared at them with a secretive gaze, as if she understood that they were not ordinary guests.
Outside the inn, Ryan said not a word, his face remaining as cold as ever. Their footsteps sounded faint against the creaking of the empty city streets.
