Crime Film Poll!

Help pick the Crime movie we will react to!

Please feel free to suggest other options in the comments for future polls!

*NOTE: I have seen End of Watch, Ocean's Eleven and Wanted, so this would only be Sam's first time reaction.

We received a ton suggestions on the last polls, but we are trying to keep the poll sizes more reasonable. We have noted all suggestions for future polls!

Comments

The French Connection (1971)

christopher brown

Teddy (Ian McShane) terrified me!

Catherine LW

Come on Carlito's Way... "Don't call me a guey" to quote my uncle. just joking.

Moe howard

Where's the option for "Wind River", huhuhuhuh! Weird that I don't see it on any polls here... 😉

Trepanation21

Definitely agreed on Twelve and Thirteen I found Eight to be kinda meh but I can agree they should see it themselves and form their own opinions

mikethemotormouth

A lot of great flicks here. I might have to go with CARLITO'S WAY. Never saw that prequel movie they made though.

Philip Davetas

Inside man is the only spike Lee film I like!!

Chris Bruneau

If you do Ocean’s 11 you have to make the commitment to do 12, 13, and yes even 8. 😏

Tristan Durant

I love it when you guys watch pre-1980 films. In the crime genre, an underrated gem is Dustin Hoffman's "Straight Time" from 1978. It's based on a novel by real life career criminal Eddie Bunker (Mr. Blue from Reservoir Dogs). It is a fantastic character study.

Dan McComb

Another movie that doesn't get enough love because it's an arthouse release and predates much of the audience is King of New York with Christopher Walken

Smooticus

good flick, but i'm having a hard time finding it on streaming services

Smooticus

Love Inside Man

Smooticus

I wonder if oceans eleven is winning simply because it's the mostly "known/mainstream" movie, any movie with Al Pacino beats any other movie regardless of anything lol in my opinion, if Carlitos Way is ever reacted to one day....then it will be known why 🙏😊

dieselbeast

Sexy Beast (2000), with Ray Winstone, who was in The Departed, and Ben Kingsley, who played Ghandi and was in Schindler’s List. You won’t look at Ben Kingsley the same way again.

Samolina Pilchard

"The Taking of Pelham 123" is terrific, and, in a happy circumstance, was just as good in its 2009 remake as in the original. But you should really watch both versions!

William 1611

Donnie Brasco! Pacino and Johnny Depp!

Ellie Miller

Carlito's Way(Pacino), Ronin(De Niro) and Inside Man(Denzel)!!!! Blood In, Blood Out deserves an honorable mention!!!!

Joe Lazarus

Carlito's Way is excellent, and stars Pacino, who I know guys love!

Chris Bruneau

Definitely a solid film

Jeffrey Miller

Both solid recommendations

Jeffrey Miller

Blood in Blood Out and Carlitos Way huge recommends

Steven hidalgo

Blood in Blood Out is the best film on here. Masterpiece

Jonathan Patrick

I recommend adding Smokin' Aces (2006) if you haven't seen it yet.

Eric

Once again so many good selections it's hard to choose just one

Smooticus

It won't win but I'm glad at least blood in blood out is on your radar, definitely worth a reaction someday, but had to go with carlitos way 🙏

dieselbeast

Just laying this out there. I know opinions vary, but I personally think Crash is one of my favorite films. I see some hate for it here already, but the way it hits me, is as a serious emotional gut-punch. It's one of the most human films I've ever seen, the acting and cast is top-notch, the writing is great, and Mark Isham's Score is one of the most unique and heart-wrenching scores I've experienced. As a film composer myself, and someone who admittedly loves a strong emotional arc to a film, this one is exceptional. It probably won't win this poll, but keep it around, and if it can fit into any other category, maybe try it there. You'd probably have to get through a lot of other action-packed bullet-spraying to ever get it voted for in a crime poll. All that said, you do have some other great films in this poll, and I totally understand people's want of them.

Eric J Watkins

I've been waiting for a reaction for this one for a long time.

Eric J Watkins

A lot of good movies on this list. It's a shame Blood In, Blood Out isn't getting a lot of votes. It's a classic and a really great movie.

Robin Cederholm

I voted for that for both reasons you did. Great list altogether though.

David Anderson

I rewatched that film recently and forgot how great it was. It was filmed in such a unique way.

Tim Raths

I highly recommend END OF WATCH! Phenomenal movie.

Justin

Another couple in this category worth a watch Traffic(2000) Dead Presidents(1995)

mikethemotormouth

The worst! It's like an elementary school lesson on race and class.

Paul Cox

You're gonna have to see Carlito's Way sooner or later. I'd vote for Crash, but I'd be watching it because it's so hilariously bad

Jeffrey Miller

Crash. I've never seen anyone react to it. Loved the editing in that movie.

Athos Count de la Fère

Even though I know it has zero chance of winning I'm still voting for crash , such a good movie difficult subject matter yes but how the movie all connects is so good , the cast is great also , noone ever reacts to it which is sad but anyways ocean's is a lot of fun so it's all good 👍

Ian

Voted Carlito's Way because eventually you'll have no choice but to watch Dog Day Afternoon if we get all the other big Pacino films out of the way lol. Voted Inside Man because more Spike Lee reactions need to be on youtube. Voted Pelham 1-2-3 because it RULES.

Paul Cox

This is a really good list but I’ll put my money on Carlitos Way

Richard

Ronin is so underrated

Jason Dolan

Carlitos Way!
