The range of emotions when finishing a novel must be unreal!

Amazing how good she was at knife throwing after having a woman do it in her book. I guess George Lucas is amazing at sword fighting too.

It's a totally different movie but with the same core cast, "War of the Roses" is Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner again, with Danny De Vito, who I think also directed the movie. It's considered a dark comedy and it really is, but I thought it was very funny.

Some of my favorite Michael Douglas films are
1- Wall Street (1988) with Martin Sheen and Charlie Sheen
2- Basic Instinct (1992) with Sharon Stone
3- Falling Down (1993) with Robert Duvall

For Michael Douglas movies, I'd recommend The Ghost and The Darkness (with Val Kilmer), and The American President.

Check out the sequel and Undercover Blues which is a quirky spy comedy.

As an author, I can relate to being in tears at the end of a novel even if it's a happy ending.

This movie is so stupid and so fun...love Michael Douglas as the poor man's Indiana Jones, and Kathleen Turner as a literal dripping mess who turns out to be a bad-ass, is just good shit.

as a kid, I saw this in the cheap theatre at the $1 show--I actually got more out of it now, so thanks for this vid!

Another bit of my childhood! It was always the movie I’d watch on VHS if I was home from school, sick…I’m not actually sure why that tradition started, but it may have medicinal properties because, you know, I always got better. 🙂
The woman who wrote the screenplay was apparently very similar in real life to the Joan Wilder character—almost a “shut-in” personality, super introverted, but lots of adventurous imagination.

Seconded for "The War of the Roses", criminally underrated. BTW, not many people know but DeVito and Douglas were roomates in acting school, which is why they collaborated so many times, both on and off screen. For example "One Flew Over Cookoo's Nest" was produced by M Douglas, even though he's not on screen.

As others have said, definitely watch The War of the Roses (1989), a fantastic, highly-original dark comedy, with the same cast: Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner, and Danny DeVito (it's also directed by DeVito!)
I really hope you react to The Game (1997) soon too. It's my favourite Michael Douglas film, and also my favourite David Fincher film. It's a real mind-bender, perfect for reactions. I guarantee you'll love it.

Double feature!! (I saw this dropped as soon as I was done watching Fargo episode 10 LOL)
This has a sequel Jewel of the Nile which is pretty good, and Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner and Danny DeVito were teamed up in another movie called War of the Roses which you have to watch. Absolutely hilarious comedy.
Probably one of the best movies with Michael Douglas is Shining Through which is a drama and Fatal Attraction which is a meme-before-the-Internet kind of thing so I'm sure you've heard of if not the movie you've heard references to it.
There are a lot of other good ones that I'm sure other people will recommend.

Kathleen Turner made her debut in the highly lauded, very steamy, crime drama "Body Heat", an excellent neo noir film. Highly recommended.
