F/VoH Ch 71: The Owner Without Artistic Ability
Added 2024-10-01 12:14:45 +0000 UTCAfter walking for a few minutes, they arrived in front of a simple inn hidden in a remote area of the western district.
The inn looked ordinary—an old building with wooden boards that might not be as sturdy as before. Nothing stood out, and that might be the best thing for them in this situation.
Ryan carefully scanned the surroundings, ensuring there were no suspicious individuals nearby. Once he was sure the place was safe and not too crowded, Ryan gave a brief nod before stepping inside with Ellina, Charlotte, and Rosseline.
Upon entering, the silence of the inn welcomed them. Rosseline glanced at Ryan for a moment before going to get the key from an old woman, then Rosseline handed the room key to the three of them, looking relieved that her task of finding this temporary lodging was complete.
Ryan took the key calmly, as did Ellina and Charlotte, and then they all walked toward the prepared room, ready for the next step in their mission.
Ryan stood in the middle of his room, his eyes scanning every corner of the space. Although simple, the room was decent enough for a brief rest.
The walls were simply patterned, while the bed in the corner looked comfortable. "Good enough," Ryan thought. However, not wanting to linger, Ryan quickly turned and looked toward the other room across the way.
Charlotte stepped out first, diverting her gaze toward Ryan, followed by Ellina, who also looked at Ryan with a deeper expression. Outside the room, Rosseline stood quietly, not entering to check, merely watching the three of them with an expressionless face.
"Come in," Ryan said, his tone calm yet firm. Ryan began to step into his room, followed by Ellina and Charlotte, who walked with hesitant steps. Rosseline, who always seemed to keep her distance, was the last to enter.
Once they were all inside the room, Ryan surveyed his surroundings. There was a moment of silence before Ryan quickly closed the window curtains, cutting off the light from outside.
Ryan's gaze shifted to the door, as if signaling. Charlotte, who was already accustomed to working with Ryan, took the key from Ryan's hand and locked the door with a swift motion. As the sound of the lock echoed, Ryan looked back at the three women in front of him with a serious expression.
The next moment, something unexpected happened. The previously quiet and cramped room began to change. The walls seemed to melt, merging into a boundless white color. The floor, which had been solid, now felt softer, as if it had no end. In the blink of an eye, they had been transported to a different place—Ryan’s Reality Marble, a private world that only he controlled.
Ellina appeared calm, while Charlotte observed with a flat expression. However, Rosseline, who was always hard to read, immediately asked a question. "What is this? Where are we now?"
Charlotte stepped forward, looking around with a curious gaze, but still with a confused demeanor. "Why is the entire room white? Does the owner of this place have no sense of art or aesthetics?"
Ryan raised an eyebrow, noticing Rosseline looked very surprised and was staring around with immense curiosity. However, Ryan merely sighed briefly, choosing not to pay further attention to Rosseline.
Ryan's thoughts returned to more pressing matters. He then turned and directed his gaze to Ellina and Charlotte, the two women who had long been working under Ryan's command.
"What about the information I asked you to investigate?" Ryan's voice was calm yet firm, emphasizing every word he spoke.
Ellina, who was always quick to deliver reports, stepped forward and provided an answer. "Young Master Ryan, the royal soldiers and knights have still not found any definite traces of the rebels. They have only managed to capture some henchmen and a few subordinates of the rebel forces."
