F/VoH Ch 69: Ryan Eats Bread for Hours
Added 2024-09-22 15:56:01 +0000 UTCRosseline's footsteps echoed softly on the stairs as she descended, and thoughts began to swirl in her mind. Upon reaching the ground floor, Rosseline decided to leave her room key with the elderly woman who owned the inn. "I'll be back later," Rosseline said briefly before stepping outside.
Rosseline walked through the narrow streets of the western district. Each step was accompanied by a sense of doubt. The streets around here were filled with small houses and simple shops, as if the town had forgotten about luxury and the glitz of life. However, the quiet atmosphere made Rosseline's thoughts even louder.
'Should I leave?' Rosseline's mind was once again filled with the dilemma that had haunted her from the beginning. On one hand, this was the perfect opportunity to escape.
Ryan and the others were not watching Rosseline now. She could just leave, abandoning everything. But on the other hand, a deep fear crept into Rosseline's mind.
Ryan. Something about that man made Rosseline feel that running away was not a wise choice. 'What if Ryan finds me? What will happen to me?'
The doubt grew larger. Yet, behind Rosseline's fear, there was a burning curiosity. 'Who is Ryan really? And what are their intentions?'
These questions continued to swirl in Rosseline's head, creating an intrigue that was hard to ignore. Ellina and Charlotte were just as mysterious, as if they held secrets that only a few knew.
As a journalist, curiosity was something Rosseline could not easily dismiss. 'This mystery... could be big news.' Rosseline knew that if she stayed, she might find answers to all the questions that troubled her.
And as a news journalist, the opportunity to uncover something significant was always hard for Rosseline to resist.
In the end, Rosseline surrendered to her curiosity. She took a deep breath, allowing her thoughts to settle a bit. 'I won't run away. At least not for now.'
With that decision, Rosseline continued her steps back toward the Sky Dock, where Ryan, Ellina, and Charlotte might be waiting.
Although doubt and fear still lurked in the corners of Rosseline's heart, a deep curiosity had taken over.

On the other hand, Ryan was sitting in a corner of a small bakery near the Sky Dock. It had been hours since Ryan first entered, and now he was on his fifty-ninth piece of bread.
Empty plates lined the table in front of Ryan, remnants of the food he had devoured—brown bread, vanilla bread, cappuccino bread, vanilla coffee, and mocha ice cream.
This bakery, usually quiet during the day, was now lively with just one regular customer: Ryan. The young waitress, who had been serving Ryan since the beginning, was very surprised by the appetite of a child like Ryan.
However, that surprise turned into a veiled happiness, as Ryan's presence brought life back to the usually quiet bakery. Even with just one customer, Ryan's presence was enough to make the day's business run smoothly.
The young waitress, with her neatly tied hair, tried several times to start a conversation. "You really like our bread, don't you?" she asked with a friendly smile, hoping to lighten the atmosphere.
However, Ryan only responded with a slight nod and a blank expression, without many words. Nevertheless, the girl did not lose hope. Each time she brought a new plate, she tried to chat, sharing various things happening in the bakery and the surrounding town.
"This shop has been around for five years, you know? My older brother used to run it before he handed everything over to me," the waitress said as she placed a new cup of coffee in front of Ryan.
