Fargo Season 1 Episode 8 'The Heap' Full TV Reaction!!

Comments

Lester is evil, not the banality of evil. He takes active steps to carry out evil. The banality of evil is more about people just doing their jobs and living their lives as evil is being done in order for them to continue on just living life. People who will never be violent or take an active part in evil acts. As an example, the banality of evil is more akin to our knowing that so much of our technology is made in terrible sweatshops with awful working conditions and we just go along with it. We are all guilty of it. You could also maybe argue that Bill is an example of the banality of evil as he contributes to the patriarchal system that doesn't believe Molly.

I know this is out of nowhere, but it looks like I have to pay extra to DM in Twitter, so I'm asking here: I'd like to use a clip from your Lethal Weapon reaction at the beginning of a music mash-up video of Die Hard and Lethal Weapon. I'm on your side. Lethal Weapon is more Christmas. Lol https://youtube.com/watch? v=Y9w3GSkJBzU&si=lOg8WDxUnt9ZFAkm

I think Lester is the perfect embodiment of “the banality of evil”. The real harm in the world isn’t the obvious, which are so easily identified, but those who seem so utterly ordinary.

I just want to say how much I enjoy the anthology/limited series format for TV. Personally, I don't think there are a lot of serialized shows that can stay at a consistent level of quality for more than 3-4 seasons. I think the limitations of having to tell a story within a certain amount of time can lead to much better and tighter writing. I can also see a bunch of advantages from a production standpoint as well. From a fan's perspective, seasonal anthologies are great because if one season just sucks you can skip it without much emotional investment. As viewers we didn't have to see True Detective become a meandering mess because executives wanted to milk it for all it's worth.

It's going to be a long week anticipating your shocked reactions to episode 9 😉
