Armageddon (1998) First Time Watching! Full Movie Reaction!!

Comments

You guys cut it off to early you missed the wedding!

Lana Gorgeous

you guys need to watch School Ties. Brendan Frasier, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Chris ODonnell. great cast

James

I could get behind a Sling Blade reaction for even more Billy Bob range. Also, A Simple Plan and One False Move.

Mark M

I loved Billy Bob Thorton in “Pushing Tin” and also recommend Deep Impact. Similar concept but more drama/hard sci-fi.

Ricardo Alanis

A great movie with Billy Bob and Bruce Willis; "Bandits" (2001) Great movie. Someone also pointed out some other great movies from Bruce, and I would recomend those as well, they are great movies!

DM DC

Amazing cast and so entertaining to re-watch this movie with you two specially with the incredible coincidence of having a real "hurricane" and an earthquake while filming. Your channel is amazing!

Greg & Lilian

That was fun. Always makes me want to watch Deep Impact.

Nick Thousan

Another early Liv Tyler movie you guys would probably like is "That Thing You Do" (1996) directed and written by Tom Hanks.

Nicotti

I thought they'd watched it - yes absolutely should be on the list

Odd Thomas

I'm trying to figure out how your comment applies to mine lol

Aaron Barlow

Lol the Ojai quake timing was glorious

My memories and thoughts on “Armageddon”: 1) That Aerosmith song was played to death back in the day and so was the video. 2) Totally cheesetastic, but totally a joyride. 3) I’ve never liked the term “guilty pleasure”. If you like or love something even if it’s not popular, who cares what others say? That is something that belongs to you and makes you you. Unless you’re a deviant who gets your kicks on hurting others, there is no guilt in deriving pleasure from something. 4) Bruce Willis is awesome. ‘Nuff said. 5) Liv Tyler is gorgeous. ‘Nuff said. 6) Ben Affleck has an Oscar. Wait, what? (Just kidding). 7) This movie is essentially “Top Gun in Space”. All that’s missing is a Kenny Loggins song. 8) Speaking of “Top Gun”, isn’t it long overdue we had a Space Force movie? Get Tom Cruise to star in it and drive up recruitments. 9) I’m very sad about Bruce Willis in this movie and IRL. I was so hoping for one last “Die Hard” movie: “Die Hardest”. It could have John McClane square off one last time against one of the Gruber clan. Benedict Cumberbatch as Hans Gruber Jr. would have been freaking awesome. 10) Happy Anniversary, Sam and Daniel! So happy you’re both safe. 🙏

Jeff Mills

Pygmy elephant should've won the Oscar for that side eye performance.

Aaron Barlow

What? Lol

Aaron Barlow

No 5th Element is tanking your credibility, brother. There's an elephant pig creature that watches Gary Oldman almost choke to death on a cherry while giving him side-eyes. None of those movies have that.

Tostito Buddy

Are you OK bro? Did you walk in on an ex girlfriend blowing another guy while Armageddon was playing on the TV or something?

Tostito Buddy

Never was a Fan of this Movie, but it was a Great Reaction Guys !!! I Recommend for more Bruce Willis "Last Boy Scout" from 1991, "Death Becomes Her" from 1992, "Striking Distance" from 1993, "Color of Night" from 1994 and "The Whole Nine Yards" from 2000

Florian Meier

About the Aerosmith situation, it was the opposite. Liv Tyler was an up and coming actress and already had a leading role in Bernardo Bertolucci's Stealing Beauty two years prior. So, Liv was cast first and then the production thought that maybe they could get Aerosmith for the song. Steven Tyler accepted because of the father-daughter story at the heart of the film and related it to his relationship with Liv.

ED209

Short cuts up the intensity and tension. There's nothing wrong with it during action scenes. Some movies take it too far where you can't understand what's happening but everything here was pretty clear.

Aaron Barlow

You guys cut it short, they had some pictures of the wedding and a memorial for the lost astronauts when part of the credits were rolling.

Lana Gorgeous

This has been my favorite movie since around Y2K when I was 13 years old. I have seen it a million times but sat and watched the whole thing with you guys. Great reaction! (Side note: Right after the last shot, there's a very brief wedding scene before the end credits)

Mike the Ginger

The armadillo shot holes in the fuselage a little too easily for state of the art titanium designed to deflect space rocks.

Aaron Barlow

"Talk about the wrong stuff" was a reference to the movie "The Right Stuff", which you guys should definitely watch. Billy Bob Thornton was in Tombstone briefly.

Ed R

As a New Zealander who grew up in Wellington I understand how nerve wracking quakes can be, especially in a place that has been expecting 'the big one' for decades. The western US seaboard is similar I guess with the San Andreas fault. You're watching a disaster film during a hurricane while an earthquake is happening. The only thing missing is Sam having the baby on the couch while TBR frantically runs for towels and hot water.

Aaron Barlow

Now that he's famous that salesman is your Daddy. Great parenting.

Aaron Barlow

This movie is pure cheese. Delicious delicious cheese.

Tostito Buddy

Drilling takes a lot of practical experience for success whereas astronauting is mostly learning some structured protocols and information to carry out a specific mission in this case. Drilling is an art like Harry said. Also it's an asteroid, meteor is a small rock that burns up in the atmosphere. A comet is a big ball of rock and ice that has a long gaseous tail due to the solar wind

Aaron Barlow

Watch out for California hurricanes. There are great whites off the coast. It might turn into a sharknado.

Aaron Barlow

It's not terrible. It's great. I think a lot of woke types hate it because of the pro America theme, The ra ra pro America flag waving thing is still popular amongst most normal people, Top Gun: Maverick proved that.

Aaron Barlow

Great reaction, Earth quake, hurricane and all 🤯 And now since you said you haven't seen Sling Blade yet, Please watch that very soon. Billy Bob is fantastic in that!! Thank you 😊

Ed Garland

A meteor is the the object as burns up in the atmosphere. So a shooting star. In space, it's an asteroid if it's mostly rock or comet if its only ice. A meteorite is what we call it if it survives re-entry and lands on the ground.

Reed James

Total cheese fest this film, but it's awesome. The music hits deep!

Alex

Great reaction! This is easily one of my favorite movies!

David Crabtree

This is the most Hollywood movie ever lmao. Still sounds great in a home theater setup

Sol95

Awe you cut out the wedding credits

Terry Lee

[blasts "I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing" by Aerosmith at eardrum-popping volume!]

Rue

Ive been waiting for this one all day dude!

Edgar Gonzalez

Some other great Bruce Willis movies: Unbreakable The Last Boy Scout 12 Monkeys Looper Death Becomes Her Planet Terror The Fifth Element

Odd Thomas

A terrible movie but I still love it. The over-editing really works against it, as if Bay and his editor were high on coke and mashing the CUT button as fast as they could so literally every shot is half a second, lol

Odd Thomas

Yeah I like both. Armageddon for the action and Deep Impact for the human drama

Odd Thomas

Miss ya Bruce. One of the great action stars there was.

Athos Count de la Fère

Woo-HOO!
