2023-08-24 22:29:40 +0000 UTCThis was a great watch together. Aside from the awesome movie, I feel the soundtrack to this movie is something wonderful...it captures every emotion needed per scene. I feel the wonder and unknown throught the music. Then it hits me with the amazing themes that capture each specific vibe. Like the music + tink telling pan to left arm dead, lean on the crutch, crack your mouth, and droooool. That is some wonderful acting...love it

2023-08-23 22:12:33 +0000 UTCI wore that VHS down. A true nostalgic favourite. The movie is bloated in some parts, some of the kid acting is meh. However, Hoffman and Hoskins simply are Hook and Smee. Williams really showed his range too, being so dull as Banning but a full on kid as Pan. The script is also full of quotable lines. James V. Hart, the main credited writer on this wrote Coppola's Dracula that you watched and that's without speaking of Williams' ad-lib (near-sighted gynecologist is a standout). The master John Williams delivers yet another wonderful score. The movie is full of cameos, the big ones being Phil Collins as the detective and Glenn Glose as the pirate that gets put in the boo box. My favourite cameo though is the couple that flies off the bridge. They're George Lucas and Carrie Fisher. Fisher actually served as an uncredited writer on the film. She was a script doctor during the 80's and 90's. Some of the more incisive lines and jabs probably come from her. Tony Burton aka Apollo's trainer Duke from Rocky was one of the main pirates. James Madio who played the lost boy Don't Ask did play in Band of Brothers. He was Perconte. Caroline Goodall (Moira) was a completely different type of character in Cliffhanger. She was John Lithgow's second in command.

2023-08-23 18:31:17 +0000 UTCGreat third act but it takes its sweet time getting there. This was the film that critics used to label Spielberg as 'too sentimental' and I think it was warranted tbh. Spielberg took it to heart and his following films turned a lot darker in response.
