Rush Hour 3 (2007) First Time Watching! Full Movie Reaction!!

Comments

Watching this for the first time with you folks. I like the first two movies but I'm halfway through this one as I type this and dang, Carter is just such a huge jacka** in this, isn't he?

Michael G. Munz

Nonsense, it's a classic, your logic is absurd

And if they do Shanghai Noon, then they can do Shanghai Knights, which I think is the peak of Jackie Chan's stuntwork in American movies, and on par with some of his best Hong Kong work (within the top 10 or so, I'd think, even if it was near the bottom).

I have the 88 films 4k release to but the criterion channel has the original film because they are doing a Michelle yeoh tribute.

88 Films/Eureka did remaster the original version of Police Story 3, but they did it for disc. The only thing that came up searching Prime Video is the American edit of the movie. From what I can tell, Dan and Sam only react to movies using streaming versions, and not disc. Also, while I understand the need for balance to keep the channel's views up overall, I think it's absurd to say that great cinema is determined by audience size. So many of the movies that are considered canon classics now were not appreciated back when the movie was released, such as The Thing, Blade Runner, The Big Lebowski, etc. For instance, anything made before 1970, probably even around 1975, is going to do significantly lower numbers than anything after, and it has nothing to do with the movies being great, just that the audience for YouTube reactions for those movies is smaller than movies after.

A good buddy action comedy to follow this up would be Shanghai Noon, starring Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson.

Nicotti

I think part of what made the action sequences less entertaining was that they used a lot more CGI in this one. It was less like a Jackie Chan movie than the other two.

Fun movie, but I wish they had more with Kenji, he is always so good. I also have always loved Max Von Sydow. He was in a lot of movies I loved as a kid, especially Flash Gordon and Conan the Barbarian. He too would always do such an amazing job. RIP Max Von Sydow... the lions ate him. ;)

The bad guy you sort of recognise is Hiroyuki Sanada who was in Hero, Sunshine (great movie you should check out) and Life, amongst many others

Issue is ,it can't be considered great cinema if only a tiny percentage of people want to watch it

Andrew

Please let's get into some of Jackie Chans Hong Kong classics: Police Sory 1 & 3, Wheels on Meals, Drunken Master 1 & 2

Ken Veader

That’s my whole point

Night King01

It's not about numbers man it's about experiencing great cinema

Ken Veader

I don’t know man your comparing them to a channel with less subs. Who knows it could be different. Plus it’s for their own enjoyment as well.

Night King01

That's heartbreaking, but I get it. There are so many movies I would love to recommend but I know that they would kill the viewing numbers.

Marcus Cato

88 films just did a 4k restoration of the film. Everything was fixed and updated. It’s all over Amazon.

Night King01

I watched one of the Police Story films on DVD, back when video rental stores were a thing. One thing that cracked me up was the English dub and subtitles. I watched the entire thing in original audio & English subtitles, and then again in English dub, with the subtitles, and nothing matched. It was a approximation of what was being said due to translation etc... I loved it!

Guston Zimasheen

OctoKrool just reacted to Police Story three weeks ago ,it was one of their lowest viewed videos on their channel at just 19k There is no audience for it

Andrew

At a glance, it looks like if you do the trilogy, you should make sure to watch the third movie through iTunes or the Criterion Channel, as those are the only two services at a glance that are offering the original uncut version with Cantonese language audio, rather than the butchered American version with an English dub. (As mentioned, the first two, you can use Max.)

Tyler Foster

You guys have to react to the police story trilogy. Luckily now they are available in their original format and 1 and 2 are on MAX. Jackie Chan considers the first his best action film so that should be good enough for a reason to watch.
